"Okay wait. Why is there just a random chair in the forest?" Zada...
Days turned to weeks. The friends had been as busy as a bee. College work constantly chasing them, bothering them so much they hardly had enough time spent together.
However, gladly they had a short break coming up, so they could catch up on some of the stuff they didn't have time for.
Heavy pattering resonated on the metal roofing. Chilly winds blew, rustling the tame trees.
It had been like this for a few days, not that it really bothered them as they were used to this, in fact they found it very relaxing.
Marie occupied the kitchen, the lovely aroma of her brownies wafting the air, making her friends' mouths water. Their faces brightened when they heard a ding and the oven opening. They licked their lips eagerly, eyes wide. Their excitement flickered when they realised that they'd have to wait a few more minutes for the delicacy to cool.
Akeira got up from the couch and sat on the bay window. As she was about to make herself more comfortable, she froze when she saw something in her peripheral.
Looking out the window, the girl felt a chill run down her spine when she saw some weird deer like creature lurking between the trees, and the chair that now faced their home.
Eyes glued to the scene she called out to her friends, voice unsteady she told them to come quickly.
Rushing to their friend to ask what happened, Tricia noticed her friends weird behaviour. Noting how her eyes dared to not move from the window, the shakiness in her voice when she called out to them.
Once they reached her, the girl pointed out the window, gazes following the direction of her finger.
Zada, about to turn to her friend to ask what they were supposed to be looking at, stopped. Her heart dropping to her stomach when she saw it.
Every hair on their bodies stood at attention as they stared down the creature.
"Y'all see that too right?" Akeira asked, making sure that she wasn't going crazy seeing things that aren't there.
"What the hell is that?" whisper-shouted Marie. Her brain ran one hundred miles per second, trying to figure out what creature was lurking in the trees.
A milisecond of black covered their vision, and it disappeared.
Shivers courses through each of their bodies. They turned to each other now. Not a word left their lips, but their eyes said it all.
However, a bit of doubt whispered at them in the back of their minds, making them question their sanity...
