𝕿he holidays were over just as fast as they came. Everyone went back to their usual routine, students returned to the academy to resume their studies, teachers were taking care of their lessons and some other adults came back to take care of their own jobs. Violet was no exception, even when she was homeschooled under Kitoshi's tutelage, she also went back to her own studies as well. The girl was still too young for Mephisto to enroll her into his own academy but even so he made sure that she got her education. As much as he wanted to give her a normal childhood, the demon king had to be very careful as to who he could reveal about her existence. Mephisto was a man with many enemies, ones that not only were humans but also his own kind, who despised him for obvious reasons, he had always sided with humans. He was proud of his own daughter, he wished he could scream to the world who she was but the fears of someone taking advantage of her existence and using her as leverage to get to him, frightened him.
Mephisto knew that Violet was growing up and she wasn't going to be his little flower any time soon, his little girl was becoming a young woman much to his own dismay. It was just a matter of time for her to start building her own life outside his embrace, leaving him just to watch her and protect her from the shadows. Even with those facts in mind, Mephisto couldn't shake away the worries and negative thoughts building up within him. Another class from the Cram School was going to graduate pretty soon, and Violet was one of the many students that will become a full flesh exorcist in a matter of a few days. Only a few knew about who Violet truly was, only those who he could trust with such information. However, over the years a few others managed to figure out his relation with the girl, something he made sure that such information didn't go anywhere outside the academy itself. Mephisto felt himself more on edge as the day for his daughter's graduation approached, once she went through the ceremony, everyone in the exorcist world would know about her. He never was one to feel fear or vulnerability, but the thought of his daughter becoming a target by members of the Vatican or even some exorcists just made all his strength crumble into pieces.
His daughter's laughter resonating from the other side of his office caught him off guard, the happy melody echoing throughout the place clearing his mind away from his own clouded thoughts. If someone ever asked him what is the first thing that came to mind with the word happiness, the only thing that he could picture on his head was his own daughter. Violet was everything for the demon king and he would do anything and even sacrifice everything if it meant to keep her safe. Mephisto never was one to ask for wishes, he always was the one who granted them, but if there was anyone who could listen to his own pleads, he only wished for one thing only. He wished for his daughter's life to be one full of love, laughter and happiness that his mistakes were his own to bear and that she doesn't have to suffer for them.
"Dad!" Violet called out for her father with a bright smile plastered on her face. "Where are you sending Kitoshi?! He doesn't want to tell me anything this time!"
