𝕴n the chilling evening of Tokyo, Mephisto and Amaimon sat quietly in front of the fireplace in the oldest office. The flames freely danced around, illuminating the space with a relaxing dim light. Between both demons, the baby was sound asleep inside a white portable crib with three black stars hanging above her. Mephisto was on the left side of the crib with one of his hands rocking it and the other holding onto a hot cup of tea close to his lips while humming a soft melody.
For most of the time they had been sitting there, Amaimon couldn't stop himself from looking at the pair from the corner of his eyes. The lack of conversation was starting to drive him insane. He sat on the armchair in a crouching position and stared at the little bundle of joy that was inside the crib. "I still can't believe that you are really keeping it." Amaimon always questioned his brother when it came to his brother, he always showed interest in humans, befriending those that dedicated their lives to kill their own kind. It took him some time to accept the fact that his brother was going to be part of the Vatican, and it was even more difficult for him to understand as to why Mephisto was keeping and taking care of such a weak creature.
Mephisto only hummed in acknowledgement, looking at his younger brother from the corner of his eyes. He was very aware that his little brother wasn't happy with his decision of keeping the baby, but he couldn't just get rid of her. Mephisto himself was a little confused as to why he took such an impulsive decision, especially when it came to a human. However, there was one specific event in the past that he could recall very clearly, one where he questioned the sympathy of a human toward demons. He remembered the night that Father Fujimoto was sent to kill Satan's newborns, he didn't understand why the man didn't follow his orders that were given to him. He never understood the reason why a baby's smile changed his motives of killing them, or even lied to the people he vowed to blindly follow orders from. At that given moment, Mephisto could only think about how inferior humans were for letting their feelings and emotions take the best of them. His ideals hadn't changed at all, he was still the same demon who enjoyed watching chaos unleashing in the mortal world, but the night the little girl arrived in his life, it changed something in him. Mephisto could say that he could understand why Father Fujimoto decided to go against his devoted loyalty to the Vatican.
"Are you going to name your new pet?" Amaimon asked, feeling a little annoyed that his brother's attention only remained on the small creature. "Or are you just going to call it human?" He added, the annoyance slightly lingering on his monotone tone of voice.
The older demon couldn't deny that his brother was right, he had been quite busy the past few days that he hadn't thought about giving her a name at all. Mephisto never thought it would have been difficult to take care of a child and take care of his duties he had with True Cross Academy plus the Vatican as well. Not to mention he also needed to keep a close eye on his younger brother, he didn't share the same compassion as him when it came to the baby. On one of the many nights the baby had been around, she had a hard time falling asleep, keeping them awake with her cries. Mephisto knew how to endure with thouse torturous night, his patience with the baby being enough to guarantee himself that he was more than sure to have the baby with him. Sadly, it was hard to say the same about Amaimon. He had lost count on how many times he had to stop his younger brother from feeding the child to his Behemoth. Mephisto thought that on the very first night, Amaimon would just leave, that he wouldn't want to be part of anything that involved the child. However, to the older demon's surprise, he decided to stay. Only with the excuse of wanting to witness how long Mephisto would last. However, much to Amaimon's disdain, his older brother was pretty serious about his decision.
