𝕿he end of the semester was just around the corner and things had been getting slightly hectic for Violet. She was glad that they were having a week off from their regular classes before their exams started, but that didn't mean she was free. During that free time, her father had decided to take action and go on with the investigation — try to get closer to the source. Much to Mephsito's disdain, both Haruhi and Kitoshi were out of the country on a mission of their own, leaving him with not many members of his own organization to choose from. Violet along with Tsuki and Rika were exceptional exorcists but he still wasn't comfortable leaving them on their own — not on that specific mission. He was glad that at least Daisuke was still around, but there was still another little problem.
On their week off, the Cram School's students needed to fulfill an assignment where they had to complete a mission along with one of their teachers. Mephisto couldn't give Tsuki and Rika more special treatment because of who they were. Others — especially the Vatican — would get even more suspicious and start asking questions around — and he didn't want that. He had to make some changes on the academy roster for the week and try to mask their activities as much as he could — his decision taking Violet a little by surprise.
The Fallen Ones won't be working on their own, and there weren't many of his employees that he could trust with his under the table missions. Igor Noihaus would have been his first choice to be part of the mission, but given his latest activities that put in jeopardy the wellbeing of his students. There was another teacher he could assign to the mission but it would certainly go against his promise to his own daughter. However, there wasn't much he could do but choose the obvious candidate for the mission. Mephisto ended up choosing Yukio Okumura for the mission, knowing the young teacher would keep the main reason behind their one week internship with F&A Laboratories.
Violet did have her doubts, no because of her team but the idea of working with the brunette once again — especially after everything that happened between them. On their last mission, they had to go to Cocytus to interrogate one of the inmates there, and it wasn't hard to notice that their synchronization was no longer there. They were just lucky enough that things still went smooth with the little mistakes done by them while interrogating Nico.
It wasn't also hard to notice that Yukio had been trying to make amends with Violet, trying to fix the broken bond between them. She was glad that at least he was putting some effort on his part, and even with the promise she made to her late mentor, Violet couldn't just forgive him. Before doing so, Violet wanted an explanation of his actions, his words — the reasons why he wanted to throw away years of friendship as if it was nothing. She was hurt in so many ways she couldn't explain and she didn't want to feel that way ever again. In her heart, Violet was ready to accept his apology, to be around him like old times but she couldn't do it — just not yet.
