"the house is in danger!" mirabel said as we ran up to her abuela.

"the house is in danger!!" she said again, "the tiles were falling and.. there were cracks everywhere!"

"..and the candle almost went out." she said which hushed the crowd

"show me." her abuela said and we led her downstairs, but all the cracks were gone.

"the cracks were there.." i mumbled

"they were everywhere!" mirabel said as her grandma looked around.

"the house was in trouble, the candle was.." she trailed off, "abuela i promise.."

mirabel looked at me and then abuela. she just went on and said the house was fine.

music played again and people went on as if nothing went wrong.

"mirabel, we're gonna find out and prove her wrong, okay? i promise you." i said before her mother dragged her away.

mirabel let me sleep over in her room, and we talked about it all night.

i fell asleep 30 minutes later.

"y/n! wake up!" mirabel said

i burst awake and got ready, the madrigals were gonna have lunch together with us.

me and mirabel were still determined to find out what was going on with the magic.

"what if we ask doleres?" i said and sat down on her bed,

"you're right.. she heard everything about everyone! come on!" she said as she grabbed my hand.

we made our way to the lunch and to doleres, "doleres! hey! you know out of all my older cousins, you're my favorite." mirabel started,

"so i feel like i could talk to you about anything! ergoo.. you can talk to ME about anything! like.."

"the problem with the magic last night that no one seemed to worry about!" i continued.

"maybe you heard something about that maybe i should know about??" mirabel said.

doleres stared at us blankly and continued to get food.

then it hit me, camilo?!

"camilo! stop pretending you're doleres so you can't get seconds!" his papa said and doleres popped up behind him.

"worth a shot!" he said as he popped right into his own body, "ah! hey!" he said as the windows hit him.

"the only one worried about the magic is you.. and the rats talking in the ways. oh and luisa, i heard her eye twitching.. all night!" she said following camilo.

"everyone! to the table, let's go let's go!" abuela said.

i sat next to camilo, across from mirabel, so she could talk to luisa.

"family! we are all thankful for antonios gift.." she said sitting and then getting up, two animals were on her chair.

"i told them warm up your seat!" antonio exclaimed.

"thank you toñito! i'm sure today we'll find a way to put your blessings to good use." she said sitting down.

"today we're meeting the wonder y/l/n's!" abuela said as she put her hand out to my aunt and uncle.

"our wonderful kids get along very.. mirabel!" she said

"if you can't pay attention, i will help you."

"oh actually.." mirabel started, "casita!" her abuela said.

and her chair moved next to abuela, "as i was saying.." she said
