The train barreled down its track, returning to Westview, the faint cha-chunk, cha-chunk, cha-chunk barely audible to us as we sat, each of us lost in thought. We were in shock. Not only had our plan to kill Monty Burns and Quackity failed, but we had lost a very dear friend, Natasha Romanoff.
I had only known Nat for a short amount of time, but during that time I had learned that she was kind, determined, and selfless. While we had waited for the train, Glitch had told us of the sacrifice she had made to save them; how she had known of her imminent death, and how she had asked them to let her go in order for them to save themself. She was truly a hero, and we would remember her for years to come.
Glitch and Thor had been hit the hardest by this loss. They had known her the longest, and they had loved her. I didn't pretend to know how they felt, but I really hoped that I wouldn't find out any time soon.
Our silence was broken by a chuckle from Glitch. Surprised, I turned to them.
"What is it?" I asked.
They smiled as they pulled something out of their pocket. "This trip wasn't a complete waste of time," they informed us. "I found some stuff in Monty's office."
I gasped, and Techno leaned forward, intrigued.
"What did you find?"
They held up the letters. "I thought these were funny, so I'll show them to you later. I found the blueprints to the Project."
"Really?" I exclaimed. "What do they say?"
"They're just for some weird-looking devices," Glitch explained. "But there are some notes in the corners that have to do with it. They're like diary entries. Listen to this, it's the most recent one."
We all leaned closer to hear what they have to say.
"It is done. My wonderful companion Waylon has found the key component to this Project. It is times like this that I am grateful for my grandfather, Wainwright, for leaving me to inherit this Nuclear Power Plant. Without it, and without my dear Waylon, I wouldn't be anywhere near here. Reanimation is imminent with these wonderful advantages I now have, and with the Battle of Las Nevadas occurring so recently, I now have the perfect subjects to test it on."
"Wow..." I breathed. "What the hell is reanimation? What's he talking about?"
"I've got no clue," Glitch said. "These blueprints are confusing, I can't understand them at all."
"What's the last paper you have?" JD asked. "It could explain them."
Glitch pulled out another paper. This one was old and worn, frayed around the edges. An odd feeling of familiarity settled over me as I saw the paper, one which I couldn't describe or recreate. It was as if I had seen the paper before, though it was completely foreign to me.
"What does it say?" I asked.
Glitch tilted their head. "It's called... 'The Really Good Prophecy That's Better Than Pussy.'"
"What the hell?" Thor asked.
"Sounds like someone has an ego," Techno chuckled.
"Read it," I urged.
Glitch cleared their throat and began to read.

The Really Good Prophecy That's Better Than Pussy
Upon a day which is very soon,
A date marked for the Ninth of June,
Occurring sometime 'round half past noon,
Disaster's bound to come.Debris scattered across the land,
The hero, and her merry band,
Shall fail their quest to take a stand,
And lose a well-known chum. The villains will reanimate,
They'll break their minds to acerbate,
They'll meet the heroes upon this date,
And chaos will ensue. They'll meet once more on Pepe Lake,
A week from then, to quench the ache,
A friend of his he will forsake,
Forcing the hero to choose. So prepare for this day as you will,
No matter what, they will be killed,
This prophecy shall be fulfilled,
And finished, through-and-through.

❦ ════ •⊰❂⊱• ════ ❦We sat there in stunned silence as Glitch finished reading the prophecy, and set down the paper beside them.
"What could it mean?" I whispered. "Who's the 'chum' that's going to die? And when's the Ninth of June?"
"I have no clue," Glitch replied.
"It's tomorrow." Techno responded flatly.
"Oh dear..." I exclaimed softly. "Well, then, tomorrow we gotta stay inside and do absolutely nothing. Maybe it's referring to some other reanimation, heroes, and villains."
"Hopefully." JD nodded in agreement.
"Cross off any plans you had for tomorrow, friends," I said, leaning back in my seat.
"It's time to do absolutely nothing."
