The story takes place in the world of splatoon manga after rescuing the Great Zapfish for the second time. It's the end of summer which means that school is just around the corner! The magic part that is involved in the story is mostly around pacts and getting to see powers.
In the story some of the characters have formed "pacts". In regeular "pacts" powerful creatures can lend some of their powers for another to use, but in exchange for the creature's power they have to give something in return or do something for the creature.

Depending on the creature can depend on the powers you get and the what you have to do or give in exchange for the powers. For the exchange part of the "pact", for a lot of "pacts" it's mostly just hard labor or just working for the creature for a period of time. If your working for the creature they give you powers to help when your working for them.

Some creatures make pacts on purpose just to get "free help", mostly powerful creatures are known to do these kind of pacts. The problem being that some of them can go to far in trying to get people to agree to a pact even going as far as putting them or people they care about in situations where they have no choice but to make a pact. They also trick people into making pacts by putting them in situations where they think it's the only way to save themselves or people they care about is by making a pact.

The plus side of these pacts are that they only last for a certain period of time, the time frame can last for only a few months to a few years. In this time frame they can use the powers they were given anytime they want, but they do have to be careful about using their power in public places. It is a good idea to only tell people that you can trust so they can help cover for you when your in a tight spot.
And that will take care of a large explation of what pacts are along with knowing that they'll play a part in the story. I do have Christmas plans so will most likely post the first chapter of the story on Sunday but from there on out posts are going to be random. But for now here is a small cut of one of the future chapters in the story to get you excited(first time writing something like this so please don't criticize to badly)!
She pushed away from him, her lungs begining to burn begging for air. "I can't die like this, my friends... will anyone find me!?" This was the thought that was going through Headphones head as she was despratley clawing and and kicking through the water, struggling to get to the surface. The full moon appearing as a fuzzy pale light shining down on her through the water being her only guide to the surface.
"Please...not like this...I can't..." Headphones could feel her arms and legs getting heavier. Looking up at the fuzzy moon shining through the surface, her vision dimming, she desperately reached out her arm to the shining pale light as darkness begins filling the edges of her vision. "Guys...I'm sorry..."
As she begins to fade out she feels a strong pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind, pulling her into an imburance. "I'm still here...just close your eyes and dream a little dream"
