"There are so many booths!" Goggles cheerfully smiled, taking in the scene of all the club booths.
It was Friday, Headphones and Goggles were currently in the main gym where the club fair was being held. Mr.Wolfenfish, the English teacher, had let anyone who wanted to check out the fair go just as long as they weren't late for their next class. There were various booths of different sizes and colors throughout the gym, with students scattered about looking at all the different clubs and sports teams.
"There are so many clubs to choose from." Headphones muttered, looking around at the various booths.
There was the Cooking club with members handing out small pastries and info about the club, the Art club had some artwork that some of the members made on display and the Gardening club had brought some of the plants from the greenhouse to show off.
Headphones recognized a few of her friends from among the crowd, Full Moonglass was talking to one of the occult club members with her signature creepy grin when she talked about curses and other things. Mask was checking out the gaming club booth, Army seemed to be in an internal debate looking between the cooking club and student council, and Paisley was talking to one of the debate club members.
"Come on Headphones!" Goggles excitedly said, while grabbing her hand and beginning to drag her deeper into the gym.
"Goggles slow down!" she said, trying her best not to bump into anyone.
After a little wondering Goggles came to a sudden stop in front of the Sewing club, which nearly caused Headphones to crash into him. She looked up to find Goggles staring at the booth with a twinkle in his eyes and wearing a big grin. Along with a love for pickled food, Goggles had also inherited a love for sewing from his grandmother and had helped her out on her little sewing projects.
"Go on," Headphones smiled. "I'll be up ahead,"
With an enthusiastic smile, the carefree inkling split off and ran over to the booth, startling both of the members who were manning the booth.
As Headphones continued down the rows of booths, the thoughts of yesterday began to replay in her head. Half-rim holding her close, eavesdropping on Gloves and Emperor, learning about their relationship, but what's been bugging her the most was the dying plant's sudden recovery. Half-rim's powers were more water-related, and she didn't have any powers, so it had to be either Gloves or Emperor.
"Skull and Half-rim have powers...but they never told me how they got them." she thought "I should ask them how-"
"Hold on there little missy!"
Headphones froze. She looked up to find herself at one of the edges/entrances of the main gym, a wet floor sign was only a few steps away from being stepped over. The janitor, Norman, who had just finished mopping the floor now looking at her with piercing green eyes.
"Sorry, Norman..." Headphones muttered, as her face began to heat up from embarrassment.
A few inklings that were nearby giggled at her, making her face burn up even more.
"No harm done, just be more careful."
With that Norman took his cleaning cart and went back to his rounds. Headphones turned around and tried her best to keep her head down after that, she couldn't believe she almost walked onto a wet floor, just cause of the events of yesterday.
"No, today is supposed to be fun, I'm just gonna look around and-"
"Hey, Headphones!"
Headphones stopped to find Aviators by the cooking club and waving at her, while Skull was grabbing a pastry for him and Avi.
