Time to Think

Skull slowly opened his eyes to find himself in his bedroom, on his bed, shirtless, and hugging a pillow. He felt as though he was hit by a truck. Skull got up, holding his head with his right hand; he looked over to his nightstand to find his phone missing.

"What happened last night?" Skull thought, sliding off his bed and nearly tripping over his backpack. "What the?"

Skull crouched down. Looking through his backpack, he found his shirt, bandana, and phone. He cursed a little when he realized it was dead. Putting on his shirt and plugging his phone in its charger, Skull sluggishly walked out of his room and into the living room to find Avi and Paisley on the couch watching some TV. Paisley muted the show as Skull walked in, looking exhausted.

"Hey, buddy, how are you feeling?" Avi asked as Skull sat beside him.

"Like, I've been hit by a truck," Skull slowly said, leaning back into the couch. "What time is it?"

"12:28 pm," Paisley answered, checking her phone.

"You were out, buddy." Avi nervously chuckled. "You hungry?"

"I'm good. Do you guys know what happened last night? I can't remember."

Avi and Paisley nervously looked at each other. Paisley nodded to Avi. Avi knew it wasn't much of an argument. Skull needed to know what he had done during the blood moon.

"Well, Skull...you uh-"

"You kidnapped Headphones and forced her into having a makeout session." Stitch interrupted as she walked in from the kitchen, holding a sandwich she made.

Avi and Paisley glared at Stitch as Skull went pale. This couldn't be real. He kidnapped his crush and made out with her. He couldn't remember a thing. This never happened from past blood moons he went through.

"Now I know what Half-rim went through," Skull muttered.

"B-But she's okay!" Avi quickly reassured.

"Coraline found you two and took Headphones home," Paisley said. "Headphones is okay. She was a little shaken up, but she's alright. Coraline told us what happened and said you should take it easy for a while."

Skull sighed in relief. Headphones was safe, that's all mattered. However, it didn't do much to stop the guilt from creeping in. This must have been what Half-rim felt after his total moon incident with Headphones. Skull covered his face with his hands and took a breath.

What happens now? How could he face Headphones after something like this?

Skull suddenly stood up. "I'm gonna try calling her."

"Skull, wait!" Avi quickly stood while Stitch held out her free arm, stopping Skull from returning to his room.

"I need to talk to her!" Skull protested, trying to move past Stitch.

"You and Headphones need time to cool down," Paisley countered, joining Avi. You've just gone through a full-blood moon; you need to rest!"

Skull looked at his friends and grunted. As much as he hated it, they were right. He felt tired, his body ached, and he was light-headed. He had never felt this bad from past blood moons. The worst he had ever had was a headache. He needed to rest but desperately wanted to call Headphones to clear things up with her.

"Fine..." Skull sighed in defeat. "I'll take it easy."

Stitch nodded as Paisley and Avi guided their friend back toward the couch. Paisley grabbed a blanket off a chair and handed it to Skull, who reclaimed his spot on the couch. Stitch and Paisley joined Skull as Avi took the armchair and unmuted the TV. Skull straightened out the blanket before settling in and trying to focus on the show.
