"Can we just focus on getting back to normal'

Tiffany and I went to the Pastoral Care office instead of returning to the assembly hall and chatted until everyone came out. As we were walking back to lesson Jamie stopped us and asked to speak to me. I told Tiffany I'd meet her in class.
"That was so brave, sitting in there with everyone, I'm so proud. This isn't the end of the journey, you've still a long way to go but we're travelling in the right direction and from now onwards things can only get better. I guess your friends know now and I'm sure others will guess that it's you because they know Ben's gone and you were going out with him but it's up to you whether you tell the truth or lie. I won't mind and will say nothing to them unless you're happy. Everbody wants what's best and you have all the help you need with this new and improved support centre which they're building next to the doctor's surgery and the upgraded Pastoral Care room here. Remember always that I'm right behind you and I'll love you no matter what. Have a nice rest of the day princess." He hugged me tight and I smiled as he walked off to his classroom.
As I entered mine I got a lot of sympathetic looks although many looked away unsure of how to act around me. I didn't think it would be that obvious but I could tell from the atmosphere that most people knew that I was the victim. Georgia ran over and hugged me. When she pulled away there were tears in her eyes.
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"I just feel so awful. I've been so horrible to you and I honestly had no idea about what Ben did. If you'd have told me I'd have kicked the living daylights out of him." She looked so upset.
"Good job I didn't tell you then. I'm not angry with you in the slightest. If I thought you'd slept with someone I'd probably have been exactly the same. Let's not dwell on things we can't change. Can we just focus on getting things back to normal."
"Of course. Sleepover at mine next Saturday?"
Me and Tiffany nodded and we all sat down to discuss a page in the latest issue of our favourite magazine.
When I got home Mum had made my favourite tea and bought our favourite DVD. Paige was at my grandma's so we had the house to ourselves. We ate tea in the kitchen singing along to the radio and chatting about our days which was an apparent necessity now to every dinner time according to mum. Then she ran me a delicious hot bath with my luscious scented and coloured bath bomb and she insisted on massaging my head with the shampoo and conditioner despite my best efforts to persuade her otherwise. The bruises had now faded and were hardly noticeable, there was still a large scar inside of me but I knew as time went on it would heal.
We dressed into our pyjamas and I hauled my duvet down to the living room to watch the DVD on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn. When the film came to a break in all of the action as it was a thriller, Mum paused said:
"I love you." She carried on watching the film as she spoke so I did the same and simply replied with:
"I love you too."
I must have fallen asleep after that because the next thing I remembered was mum stroking my face telling to me to wake up. The film had finished and it was already half ten so I gathered up my duvet and traipsed sleepily up the stairs to bed.
I had a text from Ben that he must've sent before he was arrested.
"I love you. Never forget that."
I replied even though I knew he wouldn't get it.
"Well, I don't love you anymore. Never forget that."
