Chapter 6: New Appreciation

It was just any regular day in Super Smash Town, people were having an average day like usual. However, for one person, he wasn't particularly happy. Sitting by himself in the main hall, Byleth looked a little depressed as he slowly twirled the spoon in his cup of tea. He had only recently joined the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the internet has gone wild. Every time he went to check the mail, a bunch of them ended up being hate mail regarding his addition. The silence however was broken when the Awakening Tactician arrived.

"Hey Byleth, why do you look so down?" Robin asked, sitting next to him.

"It's just the whole hate that's been going on" Byleth explained, "Ever since I joined you guys, I've gotten a ton of hate mail because I have connections to you guys"

"Hey, don't worry about it, this stuff happens a lot" Robin assured, "And besides, all of us are really happy that you are a part of our family"

"You think so?" Byleth asked.

"Of course, we started off as something not many fans knew" Robin explained, "Now, we've become more well known and it's you that gave us the recognition"

"Well, you are right on that one" Byleth agreed, remembering the two awards he won for their series.

"And also, you're not the only one that got hate mail after being announced, Corrin had the same thing too a few years ago" Robin told him.

"He's not wrong" Corrin said, appearing out of no where with a bowl of cereal in her hand, "I was even told that I was weird for not wearing any shoes"

"What the, when did you get here?" Byleth questioned.

"I just picked up some cereal as soon as Robin decided to speak with you" Corrin answered.

"Oh" Byleth replied.

"Anyway, despite what is happening, everyone in Fire Emblem are happy that you are here" Robin said, changing the subject, "We always have each other's backs, so we will have yours"

"Thank you, Robin, it means a lot" Byleth thanked.

"No problem, we also planned to have a celebration for your addition, you free to come?" Robin requested.

"Oh for sure" Byleth replied.

"Great, I'll see you at 7" Robin said, getting up and leaving.

After that pep talk from Robin, Byleth felt happier than before. He decided to move on from all the hate and enjoy being a part of Smash Ultimate. Not many people were able to make the cut, but he was glad that he made it. Finishing his tea, he got up to get ready to spend time with the others.

Sometime in the future

"BYLETH, BYLETH, BYLETH, BYLETH" The crowd cheered.

"Thank you everyone" Byleth called out.

"Happy to help" Leo added.

It had been quite some time and Byleth couldn't be happier. He was picked up as a main by the Number 1 Ultimate Player, MKLeo. After multiple tournaments he went to, he has become the best main that Leo has ever used.

"Thank you, Leo, for making me happy" Byleth thanked.

"No problem Byleth, I will always be there for you as long as you are there for me" Leo replied.

Smiling at the thought, Byleth looked back on his time in Smash Ultimate. Having a rocky start at first to finally getting a lot of respect and cheers from many. It was almost too surreal for something like that to happen.

"I really do like being in Smash Ultimate" Byleth said to himself.
