Chapter 11

-Time skip-

By this point, summer was already halfway over.

It went by so fast.

My summer wasn't exactly how I imagined it to be though.

Even though I'm out of school, I've still had to deal with drama with missy.

I haven't seen brad in a long time but he keeps texting me.

Lucas never saw that picture of brad and I missy posted, luckily...

Last but not least, Riley has become super annoying.

Brittany is rubbing off on her...not good.

So that's basically been my summer so far.

I held my phone in my hand, playing trivia crack against Lucas.

I forgot to mention.. Lucas was away on a trip with his baseball team.

He isn't gonna be back for another week sadly..

I rolled over on my bed and suddenly saw a call come in.

It wasn't a number I knew...

But just in case..

I answered it. "hello?"

"Hello. This is Maya hart right?" The familiar voice said.

"Yeah." I said.

"This is Morgan Johnson. We talked about a month ago."

A lightbulb went off in my head and I nodded. "Oh yeah. Hey."

I totally forgot to call her back in the last month.

I snapped back to reality to hear her speaking. "I'm sorry to keep calling in on you like this but we are in New York right now."

I bit my lip. Why were they in New York?

She continued speaking. "And your mom wants to see you still... If you're up for it."

I thought about that.

Some random stranger I didn't even know was calling me about this....

She seemed nice and all but...

"I don't know. I'll think about it." I said.

The other end was silent, but I finally heard talking again. "Alright. I'll call you again in a week?"

I nodded. "Alright. I won't forget this time I promise."

We both laughed and I hung up the phone.

I put my phone down and started thinking.

Maybe I could fit in the time to see my mom...

It has been over a year.

Riley's POV:

I was currently at Brittany's house.

She literally has the coolest house ever. A two story and everything.

I probably sound childish but it's only the truth.

We walked inside and sat in the living room.

"Did you get the movie?" I asked Brittany.

She nodded, picking up a disk from the table.

"Great! Let's watch it." I said.

Brittany suddenly stood up from the couch. "Yeah... Before we do that.."

Her voice trailed off and she walked towards the front door.

"I invited someone else over to watch it with us." She said, smiling.

I stood up with her. "No problem. Who?"

The front door opened and answered that question for me.

"Hey Brittany." The girl said, walking in.

Brittany just smiled. "Hey missy."

It was missy Bradford... My school enemy.

They both walked over to the couch, hiding secret smiles.

I walked over awkwardly and sat down on a chair.

What was going on?

There's literally so much coming up in this story and I'm so excited.
