Chapter 2

Ours

After being married, Hyoga and Shun decide they want a baby of their own, but biology forces them to found a surrogate mother; being June, a long time friend and companion of Shun, the couple's choice. Will the rivalry between Cygnus and Chameleon get in the way?

"The appointment is tomorrow at 11:00, so we'll be leaving at 10:30 to be just in time, okay?"

"Sure! It's your baby after all, you set the rules."

June had moved in with Hyoga and Shun at their apartment in Moscow a few weeks ago, and, if everything turned out fine, she'll be staying for the next nine months at least; the blonde still wasn't sure why Shun had decided the baby to be born in Russia instead of Japan, but she didn't care, as long as she was comfortable and her best friend was happy; after all, that was the only reason why she agreed to be the surrogate mother of Shun and Hyoga's baby. The only condition she had asked was for Shun to be the sperm donor.

It wasn't personal... well perhaps a bit. She and Hyoga didn't get along much, but since Cygnus and Andromeda's wedding, they had learned to, at least, tolerate each other. The friction came, obviously, from June's feelings for Shun when they were young and training in Andromeda Island. Even when Shun never gave Hyoga any reason to think that he and June were still a thing, the Bronze Saint never felt comfortable around her, and was always in the need to prove himself a better lover and companion to the Andromeda Saint than June ever was. Consequently, when Shun told him he had found a surrogate for their long awaited baby, he never imagined June would be the one; and on top of everything, she was not only going to carry their baby, she was also the egg donor, so Hyoga was not having the time of his life at the moment.

"I'm a little nervous to be honest," June said as she grabbed her cup of tea to sip a bit.

"Don't worry" Shun reassured her with a cute smile.

"It's just that... I mean... it is expensive! And I wouldn't want you to spend a lot of money for nothing" at that moment Hyoga arrived and sat at the table with a cup of his own.

"Just relax, you'll be perfect! Besides, stress is pregnancy's enemy number one!!!"

Seeing that Hyoga had just joined them at the table, June couldn't resist making a comment to provoke the Cygnus Saint's well known jealousy.

"I guess you are right, haha... after all... if insemination doesn't work the clinical way... we could always try the... traditional way..."

Hyoga spilled his coffee and started coughing like a maniac, while Shun turned bright red at June's comment. When the first was able to incorporate himself again, he gave June a rather fuming look. She acknowledged she had crossed the line.

"I'm joking, Hyoga... it was a joke! Jeez! You 've been rather touchy lately, haven't you?"

"Shut up, and leave me alone"

"Hy-Hyoga..." Shun expressed with a concerned tone.

"I just need some time alone..." the Russian left to the bedroom, slamming the door.

"... I think I blew it, right?" June said, seeing how her innocent joke had turned out.

"I'll never understand why the two of you cannot get along..."

"Yeah... sorry, I'll apologize after he's cooled down."

"Arigato, June-chan. Just, try to limit comments like that, after all, you'll be here for the next nine months... I guess I just want to make this whole thing easier..." Shun replied worried that the next months would be hell. "It's already hard for him, that the baby would be genetically yours and mine, he feels kinda left aside, and you being the mother doesn't make it any easier..."

June smiled sympathetically, she had just realized that whenever Hyoga suffered due to her mischiefs, Shun suffered too, for Hyoga. She didn't like the blond much, but she loved Shun, and didn't want to hurt him in any way.

After a while, Shun went to the bedroom he shared with the Cygnus Saint.

"Are you okay?" Shun asked sitting next to him on the bed.

Hyoga nodded.

"She was only joking... she didn't mea-"

"I said I was fine, Shun. I don't want to talk about it" Hyoga snapped.

There was complete silence for a moment.

"I-It's just that... I-I... I want a baby but... the fact that she is the mother and you are the father just makes me..."

"I knew it wasn't going to be easy, for you and for anyone really. But, ducky, you do know it is biologically impossible for us to have a baby on our own... and... well, June... she's a very good friend of mine... and I didn't want to let an unknown woman into our lives and let her carry our baby..." Shun explained as he put his hand on top of Hyoga's. The latter turned and looked at him, letting out a soft smile.

"I know, we had already talk about this. I'm sorry I bring it out every now and then..."

"It's okay, I'd rather you tell me everything than keep it all to yourself." Shun grinned adorably. "That's why I thought of a way for you not to feel left out, and it is technically the only way I can think of in which we can have a child that belongs to us both."

Hyoga chuckled, he always had loved how Shun thought of everything to make him happy, and occasionally came up with such creative solutions.

"I'm listening милый*"

"Well, we'll give this baby your surname..."

Hyoga widened his eyes, thay had talked about this before, and they had agreed that their future children will have a compound last name, since neither changed theirs after the wedding.

"B-But... Shunny, you can't, I couldn't..."

"I want to" Andromeda interrupted as he got closer to his husband. "He or she will be mine, biologically, but yours «legally», sort of speak... the baby will be ours..."

That was all Hyoga needed to hear. "Ours". Such a small word but with such a gigantic meaning for him. Because it implied there was an "us" and that meant Shun was his and he was Shun's. The Cygnus Saint delivered a soft kiss on Andromeda's lips.

"I love so much любимый**"

Shun chuckled.

"I love you too, Hyoga-chan!"

They continued with the kissing, getting more passionate.
