Y/N POV:

A few days after the Opening Ceremony, I could clearly see a gigantic amount of hype being built around me since I defeated Leon, which had two counterpoints, the good and the bad. The good part was the I had some recognition, which was good, considering I was completely new to the 'Gym Leader' thing and came from another region...

But the bad part was that I could see the same scenario from Hoenn repeating itself again: have good battle performances, hype around e goes up, I make a really stupid mistake, lose an important battle and feel so ashamed that I give a hiatus on battles or i start to have thoughts of quitting Pokemon battling.

This thought has been making me slightly anxious, but I try to remain calm, for the sake of my professional image, and the people who genuinely believe in me like, Glacia, Kabu, Melony and Bea.

But now changing the subject, since the Opening Ceremony, I parted my ways with Victor, who seemed to be in a better mood since our talk, and he started his journey, beginning the Gym Challenges.

Unfortunately, no one told me the first days could be SO BORING for the one who isn't the first Gym Leader!

Everyday I check into the Stadium and be there doing nothing for hours and go home.

Thankfully, Chairman Rose assured I could leave early due to the lack of Gym Challengers and do other stuff around town or explore a little bit the Wild Areas. But he said I should be aware about the news when Gym Challengers defeat Nessa since I'm the next one on the list.

So today I decided to treat myself with a nice of Roserade Tea and some cake.

Yes, just some time to myself, relief my anxiety...maybe later go to the Wild Areas and find new Pokemon!

I was happy and looking forward towards what I would do today...

That, until I hear a squealing coming from another table.

I grumble under my breath.

I knew what was coming up.

Two girls, get up from that table and goes towards my table.

Them they ask.

Girl 1: "Excuse me, you're Y/N, right?"

Y/N: "Yes, I am."

Girl 2: "Could we take a picture with you?" She says, showing her phone.

Y/N: "Sure, why not?" I replied.

This is something that has been happening a lot.

People asking for photos, paparazzi and all those yada yada.

I knew I had people like these back at Hoenn, but I never had to deal with them. But in this case, I had no option.

Nothing against them in anyway, but sometimes it can get quite annoying, and today was one of those days.

I just decided to accept the photo request since I didn't want to be rude.

Big mistake.

The moment I knew, I was surrounded by everyone in the café, asking for an autograph or a picture.

I knew this would be common as a Gym Leader, but I clearly wasn't prepared to deal with this.

For the love of Arceus, I just wanted to enjoy some Roserade Tea at peace!

Thankfully, I feel someone pulling me out of the crowd, followed by a familiar voice.

Melony: "Everyone, I deeply apologize, but me and Y/N have business to deal with, so no photos and autographs, everyone! Again, I deeply apologize!"

Eventually, we were both out of the cafeteria and away from the public. That was the good part.

The bad part is that I didn't even finish my drink.

I sigh and say.

Y/N: "Thanks, Miss Melony."

Melony: "No problem, my dear." She replies with that sweet, mother-like smile.

But them she frowns and continues.

Melony: "But you should know better, young man. You shouldn't be here, and you know it." She says, like a mother scolding her child after he disobeyed.

Y/N: "I know. I know. I just didn't want to stand around in there all day. I needed sometime for myself."

Her tone changes, to a more caring and concerned one.

Melony: "Something in your mind, sweety?"

Y/N: "No, no. Not at all. I just wanted some time for myself, away from the Gym. Since no one was coming over, I wanted to enjoy some tea and after that go to the Wild Areas to relax."

Melony: "I understand, but why the sudden stress?"

Y/N: *sigh* "I'm feeling all that movie from Hoenn repeating itself again. And you know how it ends. Me failing and being an idiot." I say, looking away.

Melony: "Oh honey, you should have just told me from the start. But now that you're Mr. Famous, I recommend next time following Nessa's technique."

I look at her, confused.

Y/N: "Nessa's technique?"

Melony: "Wear a disguise." She says, retrieving a pair of shades and a white knit beret from her pockets.

I take the shades and beret from her.

Y/N: "Thanks."

Melony: "Don't mention it. I'm a mother of four, so I know when they need something."

Y/N: "...ok then?" I thought her comment was slightly weird, considering MY situation.

How did she know I was IN THIS kind of situation from all kinds of troubles in the world?

I decided to shrug it off for now and put my 'disguise'.

Melony: "It looks good on you! Now I should get going. I recommend going somewhere else, since the café is a no-go for now. Be careful." She says goodbye and leaves.

I chuckle as she leaves.

Melony is a strange woman, she was once a Gym Leader, but she seems to treat everyone like a son. I wonder if she was like that when she was still active...

I decided to leave and go to the Wild Areas.

That was, until I pass by a small bookstore on the way and see a familiar figure with a puzzled look inside the store.

Y/N: "Sonia?"
