"This is how I am gonna leave the world, huh..."

He knew that for a fact, still... he couldn't help but thought out loud. After surviving alone in this mess, he couldn't help the habit of talking to himself... at least he talked?

He laughed out loud, caring less about the horde that he attracted. He's tired. If anyone saw him in this state, they would call him crazy. But who would when he was the last one of them?

Red liquid poured out from his stomach, painting the street red with his blood. Tons of growl grew closer to his current location but he paid them no mind.

"I'm coming Hina,.. partner.. everyone.." They must be laughing at my pathetic situation right now. He couldn't help but chuckled at the thought weakly, choking on the blood that filled his lungs.

"See you soon" the last thing he felt was the extreme pain all over his body and the scream of the undead surrounding him.

'till we meet again'

"Takemichi-kun!"

Startled from his thought, he turned his head towards a light brown-haired girl, paired with her light brown eyes and a beautiful birthmark on the corner of her lips. His childhood best friend who always there for each other through thin and thick. Blue-like sky eyes met light brown eyes.

"H-hina-chan...?" Tachibana Hinata. The moment of failure to save her was still fresh in his mind. Being able to look at her really brought the memories stronger. Before he could stop it, he already ended up bursting into tears on sight. He thought he was already past those crybaby phases, guess it stuck with him.

"Takemichi-kun?! W-what's wrong? D-did I say something wrong? You suddenly stop wal-" Hinata sounded alarmed while trying but failing to comfort him. Hinata was cut off from her worried rambles when a pair of trembled arms already wrapped around her tightly but gently. it was as if she was going to disappear anytime soon and he was terrified of it.

"it's nothing Hina-chan, just a bad day," She didn't buy it but she wrapped her hand around him too anyway. He almost burst into another flood of tears with that small gestures. "C-can we stay like this for a while?"

The more the arms around her tighten, the more concerned she had been. "Sure, Takemichi-kun. You know you can tell me anything that's bothering you, right?" She slowly rubbed his back.

"I know... that's why I'm glad to have you, thanks, Hina-chan." Takemichi let the brightest smile appear on his lips, tears still welling up in his own eyes as he pulled away from her to look straight into her eyes.

Hinata couldn't help but also smiled since Takemichi's smile was contagious. "come on Takemichi-kun, let's go to class"

Takemichi's step faltered when he heard the word 'class'. He quickly checked his phone to confirm his suspicion while Hinata watched him curiously and patiently. When he checked the date, he inhaled sharply.

The same day, 4th July 2005, was the day where everything turned upside down. 7:01 am, an hour and a half before the start of the apocalypse -more specifically the time it reached him-, and 12 years before the time Hanagaki Takemichi died. The time when society died.

No survivor, him alone. The last one of the human race.

His knees failed him, unable to digest the information. He almost pukes all of his guts out on the sight. When Hinata saw him, she quickly helped Takemichi to stand.
