"Code four! Now!"
Hearing the number, everyone's eyes widen. Without saying anything, they nodded and all of them took the bags they packed with some things they needed, before leaping through the window to the rooftop of the next house. Because of how tall Takemichi's house was, the way to the next rooftop from the window was easier. Draken hoisted Luna up on his back as he was the biggest among them as well as the strongest besides Mikey and Takemichi.
Mikey was small so Takemichi couldn't count on him in that part no matter how strong he was. There was a whisper telling him to not leave a child in Mikey's hands too.
Entering Takemichi's bedroom for the last time, Mitsuya hurriedly headed to his unconscious sister. Seeing as Mitsuya was pretty used to Mana's weight, he easily lifted Mana up. He could immediately feel the heat coming from her. She was tiny so it was easy to move around with her on his back. he was not sure if it was because she lost weight or he gradually became stronger. He was sure Takemichi's training played a big part in his growth. Nonetheless, he still struggled to hold Mana in place as he begin to move.
Seeing the struggle Mitsuya had to hold Mana in place, Takemichi took a long fabric before he ran toward Mitsuya, tying Mana to Mitsuya with the fabric he got. He made sure the way he tied them together was comfortable for both of them but tight enough for the knot to not come undone.
"There, now there was no need to worry she will fall"
Smiling gratefully, Mitsuya pat Takemichi's head before making his move just as Takemichi instructed them back in their training days.
Each of them took action while keeping their mouth shut, remembering the lessons they had to learn from Takemichi during those hellish training days. They knew what they should do already as Takemichi taught them what they need in order to survive.
For example, 'code four'. A code that no one among them ever used before. Despite that, Takemichi made the code the signal for it.
It. The wave.
Takemichi lived those twelve years in the past not just by surviving blindly. By moving from base to base, Takemichi could feel when it was the wave would come. That was one of the many advantages Takemichi was glad he picked up from his past life. One of his specialities.
They still felt goosebumps and shivers running down their spines every time they remembered the moment they discovered the code.
.
"So, how do we know when the wave will come?" Chifuyu raised his hand before he asked the question like the good student he was.
Takemichi smiled proudly, pointing at Chifuyu with his pen before saying, "Good question, partner"
The others were observing from afar, paying attention to each word Takemichi said. They were currently in daily meetings. Not just any meeting but the meeting where Takemichi would teach them some things they needed to know. Some were sitting on the couch, some were lying on the floor and others were leaning on the wall.
"That was the thing, no one knows," Takemichi said, crossing his arms on his chest. The others, including Chifuyu, were staring at him in shock. Before anyone could say anything, Takemichi added, "but I know"
"How?!" Mikey was staring at Takemichi wide-eyed, hard to believe.
Takemichi, not sure how to explain it, was biting the edge of his pen. Frown latched on his expression. Still not knowing how to explain it to them even after all those thinking, Takemichi sighed, looking at them with a soft smile.
