"If you need a place to sleep... I have a spare couch I can sleep on, you can take the bed" I offer up, slightly hoping she wouldn't take it.

"I'd like that... Thank you" Lizzie looks up at me and smiles.

A blanket of silence sets upon the room as I can't think of what to say next... with her eyes looking into mine.

I see Lizzie shiver a little, as I hesitantly stand up and walk towards my dresser.

"It gets cold sometimes in here, put this on" I say.

Throwing one of my favourite white hoodies at her. She wastes no time to put it on.. thank god I buy oversized hoodies as it fit her.

I turn my back to go put my cup on my desk and quickly go into the bathroom to re-brush my teeth for a second time after having coffee.

Coming back out to see Lizzie resting gently in my queen sized bed. Tucking herself into a corner of the bed.

I walked over to my couch, fearing that she'd already fallen asleep in the brief time I'd spent in my bathroom, not wanting to wake her up.

And just as I go to take a seat on my couch a hear a gentle voice, turning off the lights.

"Hope" Lizzie speaks.

"Yeah" I respond quietly.

"I hate sleeping alone..." Lizzie hesitantly states, with a sigh almost like she didn't want to tell me.

"Oh right" I was a bit behind on what she wanted from me.

Until I gathered... she most likely wanted me to sleep in with her.

"Would you like me to sleep in the bed with you" I ask, a bit confused.

"Only if you'd want..." Lizzie quickly rectifies.

"Sure" I softly respond.

I make my way over to the opposite side of the bed, sliding into the covers near, quite startled to find she'd moved from her previous position, she was in the middle of the bed.

She doesn't move when she feels me get in either, leaving me on the edge of the bed.

"We can't give Josie the satisfaction that her plan worked" Lizzie hesitantly speaks.

"The secrets safe with me... you were never even here" I laugh.

I find myself drawing closer to the girl, breathing so silently and peacefully.

"Put your head up for a second" I tell the girl.

I feel her lift her head off the pillow as I replace it with my arm, as she lowers her head to realise she was now resting on it. Then wrapping my other arm around her stomach and holding her close.

Placing the front of my body up against her front, no one saying a word.

To say that just under 8 hours ago I couldn't even stand to look at her... I chuckled at the site of her being the little spoon.

Her heart beats slow and become a more constant rhythm... as she fell asleep.

"Good night Elizabeth" I whisper softly into her ear.
