It was well into the night now, the two demons having been away for almost an hour. The servants were dead asleep now, Adelia being responsible for making sure the house wasn't a complete disaster in the last hours of the day. It made Valeria laugh at the thought of the maid being strict with them, even though it seems she had gotten along with them well.
She made her way down the long hallway once again to Ciel's office, being called down to talk. She suspected it was about the recent murder case, but she couldn't be sure. Even so, why would he call her down now? Surely they could talk about this in the morning.
She knocked on the door of the office, hearing him allowing her to enter and opening the door. Ciel was sat at his desk, free of paperwork. Valeria was always quite good at reading people, and she could see the happiness on his face at the fact he had nothing else to do for a while. She could see what was almost a smile on his face.
"Good to see that you came. I have something to talk to you about." Ciel said.
"I suspect this is about the recent killings?" Valeria asked.
"No, this is about something else, something that is important to me."
"And what would that be?"
Ciel looked up from the table to stare into her eyes? "What is your purpose here?"
Valeria smiled. "What do you mean, Ciel? I was asked to come here for this case."
"You didn't. You came for another reason."
Valeria could barely believe his accusations towards her. How dare he accuse her of such things, but she couldn't deny him, it would give too much away. But even so, coming clean would do the same. There were no other options, only coming clean.
"Fine, I confess. There were other reasons for my arrival."
His smile widened, his happiness showing now at the fact she came clean.
"I came to ask for help on something, something incredibly important to me."
"What is it, Valeria?"
She paused, looking down at the ground. "I want to find answers about Lilith. She is a demon of wrath and chaos, they are known for only taking short contracts. And because of that, I want to know why she even decided to create a contract with me.
"And secondly, I want your help with finding out the cause of my parent's deaths. It was ruled out as an accident, but I believe there is something more to it, that something else happened that day."
Ciel was expecting something else, like the three of them planning to kill him, or something of the sort. Instead, she was looking for the same thing he was. Answers.
"Fine. After this case is done and over with, I will try and help you."
"Thank you, Lord Ciel.
