"REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACK"
Charms dragged on as usual.
Though it also could've been thanks to the group work Flitwick had assigned.
I really did hate depending on others. Most people aren't reliable anyway. I find that people tend to choose themselves first above others.
Can't say I'm any different though.
I know I can rely on myself so why bother with anyone else?
I had the displeasure of being paired with Bagman.
He's not a bad quidditch player, but his abilities don't quite reach outside the field. Unfortunately for me, Evan got paired with Carina's friend.
"I'm telling you she's amazing!" Evan said to me.
"You say that about every girl Evan." I sighed.
"Yes, but this one's different! I swear!" he replied, rather unconvincingly.
"I've heard that one before." I muttered.
We were on our way to the Great Hall for lunch. My Monday afternoons were free, so I planned on spending it by finishing up that muggle book I borrowed.
It has definitely been an interesting read so far. Partly thanks to the little notes and side comments that she has written all over it.
I'm slightly tempted to find out if she's got more of these kinds of books.
Again, not that I'm interested in muggle literature, or her for that matter, I just can't help but admit that I've enjoyed reading someone else's thoughts as I went through each chapter.
It's fascinating to be in someone else's mind, to see how much theirs differs or agrees with your own and-
"Black!"
I rolled my eyes as we passed by grease head and his posse.
"Black!" Snape called out again.
"Piss off Severus." I called back to him just as me and Evan sat down a little way away from them further along the table.
"I think I'll ask her to meet up later today, you know, to work on charms." Evan said as he began piling a bunch of food onto his plate.
I looked around the great hall, eyes landing on her instinctively.
She had her back towards me and was seated around my brother and his friends as usual. She also seemed to be quite close with Lupin.
What is it about him that has all these imbeciles, including her, swooning over him? For one, he dresses like an old man, and I've never even seen him at any parties. He also always has his head stuck in a book.
Everything about him screams boring.
To be fair, it's not like Gryffindors and Slytherins party together very often. Or much at all really.
And if he was reading books such as the one I'm borrowing, I could see the appeal of having your nose constantly stuck inside of one.
Hell, it's what I've been doing with my free time ever since I got a hold of it.
Maybe I shouldn't be judging a book by its cover.
Zoning back into the present, I watched as her red-haired friend leaned over to her, said something, then got up from the table. She seemed to be making her way over to our side of the room.
