I'm calling Rainbow Red Reverse no matter if it's Rainbow Red x (someone) or RQ Reverse x (someone) I just don't want to write Rainbow Red each time.

Hatred flowed through him.

Hatred for the Orange Steve who stole what was rightfully his.

The title of hero was supposed to be his, not anyone else's and it was stolen. Just like everything else.

Reverse was supposed to be the hero, the savior of the Steves, defender against darkness. Instead, he is considering an enemy among the Steves who were supposed to celebrate him.

Not only did that Orange Steve stole his title, but the human who's supposed to be at his side.

Back when Reverse was Rainbow Red, when first meeting Sabre, he wanted the brunet to be by his side.

Everything Orange, now Rainbow, has, Reverse wanted, and he will get it, one way or another.

It was a rare peaceful day, so Sabre and Rainbow took advantage of this by relaxing in the Rainbow Hub, doing their own thing: Rainbow talking to Gerald and Sabre was catching up on some much-needed sleep. It was nearing noon when the brunet woke up, rested to a point, and decided to cook something for all of them as it was almost lunch time. As the brunet cooked, he felt as though someone was watching him so looking at window, Sabre seen Rainbow one the other side, staring at him.

"Sabre?"

Surprised, Sabre turned to see Rainbow staring at him with a worried expression.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm" Sabre look back at the window to see 'Rainbow' no longer there, "I'm, um, fine looks back to Rainbow I made lunch for when you and Gerald want to eat"

"You can cook?!" Rainbow asked surprised, "When? How?"

The human chuckled a bit, "Learned when I was younger by an old friend, now get Gerald so we can eat"

Rainbow nodded enthusiastically before running out to get the third member of their group. (Wouldn't it been funny if Gerald would have been a horse, then the original trio would be in Rainbow Quest? XD).

Sabre chuckled before going back to plate food for all of them. Rainbow came back once food was on the table with Gerald in tow and the trio ate the wonderful, in the Steve's opinion, food even Gerald oinked in agreeance. Sabre was just glad they ate it, them complimenting it just made him feel embarrassed. Afterwards, Rainbow volunteered to clean up seeing how Sabre has been yawning quite a bit and suggested that he should take a nap. With no complaints, Sabre went up to his room and the moment his head hit the pillow he was fast asleep.

Nighttime came and all the residents of the Rainbow Hub were asleep. The moon being the only light source to chase away the darkness, but even then, it alone wasn't strong enough to uncover everything from the shadows.

He stepped out of Sabre's closet and quietly walk over to the unexpecting human to avoid waking him up. Dark blue eyes filled with fondness and envy stare down at Sabre's sleeping form, oh how he wished that he was the one eating the food Sabre made or make him smile from all their fun times. Thoughts about how Reverse should be in Orange's shoes filled his mind once again but he quickly pushed them down in favor of thoughts of having Sabre by his side.

In the beginning Reverse planned on gathering some of the Crystals before asking Sabre to join him, but a certain Steve got to him first and Reverse allowed his jealously take over. Now Reverse wished he had talk to Sabre, maybe then they would have been friends and not enemies. Maybe Orange could have become the villain for him and Sabre to defeat. Reverse would have become what he always wanted, just like the stories he heard about the previous heroes.

"Mmm"

Reverse froze seeing Sabre turn to his side, thankfully not waking up.

'Why couldn't it be me that everyone loves and celebrates? I did everything to become the hero yet I'm the villain' Reverse thought.

"Rainbow?" A sleepy voice asked making the Steve freeze, "What are you doing?"

"N-Nothing" Reverse did his best Orange impression, luckily it worked.

"Can't sleep?" Sabre propped himself on his elbow.

The blue eyes widened seeing Sabre's face without his bandanna, never had he seen the humans' eyes or anyone that he knows of. Coming back to reality, Reverse replied with a yes to avoid the human from becoming suspicious.

"You want a hug?" Sabre asked, sitting up and opening his arms.

At this point Sabre must be doing this subconsciously, something he has done several times in the past. Without any hesitation, Reverse hugs him, enjoying the warmth Sabre radiated.

"Thank you" Reverse whispered.

" 'elcome" Sabre muttered before falling asleep once again.

As much as Reverse wanted to stay, day is approaching, and certain residence(s) of the Hub would not appreciate him being here. Laying the brunet back on the bed, Reverse left the room with plans forming in his head of how he'll become the hero and take what's rightfully is then Orange will be nothing more than an old memory.

Sabre woke up to a crash coming from the lower floor and quickly ran to see what was going on. Apparently, Rainbow was trying to make breakfast as a thanks for dinner, but he was better at creating structures than making food.

"You" Sabre huffed out after putting out a mini fire, "are not allowed to cook again"

Rainbow looked down in shame and embarrassment, "Sorry"

"It's fine, just don't touch the stove, or microwave unless you're heating up something. I really don't want to be inside when a fire breaks out"

The Steve nodded, still feeling guilty about almost burning down their home and the chance of hurting the brunet. Sabre smiled and opened his arms which became full of an apologetic redhead.

"Your good fam, no hard feelings" Sabre patted Rainbow's back to let him know he could let go but the Steve didn't, "Um, Rainbow?"

"I miss your chicken onesie, it's so soft!" Rainbow squealed and buried his head in the fluffy feathers, "It's like you're a teddy bear that I want to cuddle!"

"Geez didn't you get enough last night?"

This caused Rainbow to pull away a bit, "Last night? I didn't come to your room, I was asleep"

"Huh? You came in my room.... but my door wasn't open though" Sabre mumbled loud enough for Rainbow to hear, "I-I think someone broke in"

"Did they do anything to you? Are you hurt?" Rainbow looked around the human.

"No, not that I know of, I was so tired, but I just remember hugging someone before going to sleep" Sabre scratch his hand out of nerves, "R-Rainbow?"

Pulling him back into a hug, Rainbow said, "I'm sleeping with you tonight, I don't want anything to happen to you"
