The next day you avoided Freddy, trying to make sense of your running thoughts after what Moondrop said. Your mind was rushing to make sense of things. Every time Freddy spotted you, you would turn around and walk away pretending to have not seen him. His ears would drop and his smile would fade. You felt awful, but you wanted to figure out who Freddy was to you.
This continued on for a compete week and eventually Freddy stopped looking at you. During the performances he kept his gaze forward, when hanging around children he always had his back to you. He also didn't seem to be around as much as he used to. It was your fault really, you did it to him, it was only fair he did the same. But it hurt.
You sat in your room after hours, head hurting as it has been on a daily basis. You clawed at your head with your eyes closed. Leaning on your desk, you tried to shake the burning voice that has emerged.
He hates you now. No one cares.
Shaking your head your nails scratched into your metal exoskeleton.
It took a while but the constant stabbing pain subsided to a throbbing feeling. Taking your claws off your head you fixed your fur to cover the exposed metal. You had to tell someone, but who. Freddy hates you, Chica will tell the staff, Roxy will freak and tell Chica, Monty will probably try to fix it himself and may kill you. It was a lose-lose situation.
A sudden knock at your security door made you jump.
Freddy?
Quickly covering the rest of the marks, you walked to your door. You wouldn't admit it, but you really hoped it was Freddy. You wanted to apologise and return to the way things were, but could you do that? What if you did want something more and he didn't? What if he want's something more but you don't?
As the door opened it revealed the green gator. "Oh, hey Monty," You forced a smile onto your sad face. Monty didn't seem to notice your down mood and replied with a grin of his own, "Hey (Y/N). I was wondering if you would like to join me in a game of golf?" You looked into his amber eyes. He seemed hopeful and who were you to crush two of your friends. So you accepted.
The Monty golf course was really cool. Alligator head would pop out with a hiss, there were leaves, little water cannels, and fans blowing mist. There were nine holes, each with varying obstacles. One even went into the mouth of an alligator.
Monty handed you golf club which you took with a forced happiness. You both walked to the first course and it begun. You weren't really in the game. Monty got all the holes within the par number, but you were off in the tens and twenties.
"Don't worry (Y/N), you'll get the hang of it." You nodded giving out a loud puff of air. Monty swung the club onto his shoulder, leaning his star sunglasses down to look at you. He noticed your sad demeanour and tried to cheer you up. "You look lovey tonight (Y/N)," he tried to cheer you up. You gave a small smile but it fell.
For the next few courses Monty kept trying to cheer you up with cheesy pickup lines. While some of them were very funny, you couldn't feel it. Those words coming from him didn't fit. When he complimented you, you could only think of how Freddy would have said those words. It was annoying. Did you even like the bear? Did the bear like you? What made you feel worse was the fact that you were thinking about Freddy when you were hanging out with Monty.
When on the last course Monty watched as you effortlessly putted the ball, it ending up in the water. He shook his head and walked towards his ball. Taking a confident swing he turned to you. "You seem upset. And I believe to know why." You looked up at him. "Why?" "You miss Freddy. You have been avoiding him all week, and during this whole date you have not been enjoying yourself."
Oh mama cheese crackers, this was a date.... oops.
"So tell me, what's up," he leaned on his gold club, intently staring at you. You gave a simple shrug. "I dot know." "You don't know, or, you don't wanna know." "Know what," you tilted your head. "You like him." "Who?" Monty pinched the bridge of his nose, "Freddy, duh. Why else would you be avoiding him and seeming all down when he is not around." "That's not how people in love act." Monty laughed, "Oh yes it is. Trust me I have seen hundreds of teenagers fall in love and its this whole drama case. Its like watching a soap opera."
You exhaled, picking up your tail and brushing your nails through the fur. A nervous habit you have developed. "Even if I did, he surely hates me now. And besides, how could he ever like me." Monty shook his head. Grabbing your hands and lifting them up towards him, he stared into your eyes. "I have not stood for hours on end listening to him ramble about you just for you to tell me he doesn't like you." You scrunched your face. "Wait, wait, wait. If you knew he liked me why did you take me on a date." He let go of your hands, placing his in his pockets. "Mainly to make him jealous, but also to see if you were good for him. Which I approve, not from this date though, from past events."
You stood, dumfounded and confused. "So you set yourself up for heartbreak." "basically yes," he nodded. "Sorry for not liking you and stuff," you brushed your tail fur again looking away. He shrugged, "No hard feelings. Its rare that I meet a woman who hasn't fallen in love with me. I admire that." You stared at him blankly, "Wow, look at your ego." He smirked, "All apart of the charm. Now quit yapping to me. Go and talk to Freddy." He shooed you.
You ran up the metal staircase to the entrance doors of the Monty Golf. You paused and looked back at Monty. "Thank you," you called. "Don't thank me yet Juliet." "Don't they both die at the end?" "Not the point! Now go (Y/N)!" With that you busted through the green doors off to search for the bear
