Chapter 20 - He's Protective

Your spare parts for your ankle finally arrived, making you want to yell to the rooftops in joy. You were sitting in parts and service, looking around as Clara worked on your ankle. You didn't want to pay much attention to what she was doing because you knew you would do something you would regret. As she worked on your leg you couldn't feel a thing to your luck, they had disabled your feel receptors in that leg so you wouldn't feel a thing and freak out.

So not freaking out!

To take your mind off your overthinking, you decided to distract yourself by looking at other things. You stared outside of the protective dome and watched as other workers rushed about with clipboards and their white coats. Endoskeletons were being analysed in glass cells, with one cage broken with a blinking light. You wondered why they would think glass was able to stop a giant heap of heavy living metal. Mentally shrugging it off, you looked over to the other side of the room. It was simple with inactive endoskeletons trapped in metal cages. The only endoskeleton that was out of its cage was a singular glitching skeleton that stood idle in the corner, only ever twitching.

When you ran out of things to look at you begun to get restless and move round in small motions. "(Y/N) I know this is taking a long time but please sit still," Clara instructed. With your ears flattening in annoyance you obeyed letting out an annoyed sigh. "Don't give me attitude. You wouldn't be here if you didn't run around in the utility tunnels and I would still be on my weeks break." You suddenly felt guilty for being an idiot and ruining her day. "And after this I have to update your code so you can delete the virus." She took a step back to cool herself before she made a fatal mistake. She held the brim of her nose containing her tiredness. You looked down and your ears dropped.

Waste of time.

"I'm sorry Clara. I'll be more careful next time," you whispered, your voice still husky. She looked up at you and she relaxed. "Oh, ignore me, I didn't get my full sleep last night." You nodded, understanding in a way what it's like to feel groggy and tired. Clara took a calming breath before continuing her work.

After your foot was completely fixed, Clara quickly left the dome before reentering holding a USB. She opened up a hidden compartment in your chest and plugged in the device. She pressed something and then you felt an odd sensation as new code was added to rid of the virus. The odd feeling soon turned into a painful burning. "Cl-Clara, is it supposed to burn." She turned to face you, "No, it shouldn't. Maybe something is wrong?" She looked over the USB and tried to pull it out. It didn't budge. "Oh that's not good." "What? Whats not good?" You began to panic as Clara began to sweat. Without another word she rushed out of the cylinder and began yelling at the other workers who also seemed frantic and panicked. You breath quickened as your systems began to overwork in worry.

You closed your eyes for a moment. Upon opening you saw that person in a Rabbit Suit. A female. The red eyes burned into you as she waved.

Ya having fun? I'll see you soon, (Y/N).

The words burned and scorched into your mind. Your claws dug into your head as she spoke. You closed your eyes, roaring in pain. Your head whirled and your body ached. The pain was indescribable, but it felt as if a fire enveloped your body and yet at the same time your were frozen still in extreme cold. When you opened your eyes, the rabbit was gone. Your vision blurred and dots covered your vision. The last moments that your systems recorded was your body falling forward, heading straight to the floor as you fell back into that black void.

You awoke to soft cushions and the sound of children screaming in happiness. Placing a paw on your throbbing head you slowly sat up. "Careful." You glanced to your side meeting the electric blue eyes of Freddy. Blinking a few times your eyes fully adjusted and you took in your surroundings. A charging station, (f/c) and (sf/c) furniture, your name on the wall, you were in your room.

"How did I..." You coughed. Freddy looked at your with worry as you coughed. "You had an accident in parts and service-" "I didn't hurt anyone did I?" you interrupted franticly. He shook his head, "no, no, everyone is fine. But you however, that's another story. Turns out that when they gave you that update it wasn't the correct USB and that caused your systems to freeze and shut down. They were able to get rid of the code and they wanted to give you the correct code but I stopped them. You had been through enough already." "How did you know?" He slightly looked away, but still had you in his vision just in case, and scratched the back of his neck, "I was waiting in the waiting room for you."

Aww, he wanted to protect me.

A lazy smile formed on your face as he continued to explain himself. "I was scared that they would do something that would hurt you and I was worried. And I was right to be scared because they messed up!" You winced as he grumbled the last part loudly. "sorry, sorry," he apologized before he took a breath, "Your head will be hurting for a while, you damaged it pretty good." You coughed up a chuckle, "Yeah I can feel that." Freddy gave a small smile. "Also, if I may ask (Y/n), before this whole incident, when I was brushing your fur, I noticed you had scratch marks on your head. Why?" You gulped.

Tell him you fool!

You gulped. You sat up straight on the sofa with a huff and a burst of non-existing energy. "I keep scratching myself when I brush my fur. I didn't want tell anyone because its embarrassing."

Your such a liar (Y/N)... and a fool.

Freddy gave you a suspicious look, not fully trusting your words. "Okay." You nodded and looked down feeling awful for lying to him. He waited a little for you to tell him the truth but when you didn't he stood up. "If you need me don't hesitate to come get me or send Bumblebee." He gave a faint smile on which you returned. With that he left without another word.

He will never trust you again.
