Chapter 47

Crosby, Liverpool - England, 2027

The decision has been taken and both of them are good with it. London it's where they will be living.

When they told Sofía about moving, she wasn't very convinced at first. But the fact that she would be living closer to her grammy, was what finally made her give in. With the decision of moving out, there are many others they had to start making. They are still in the process of looking dozens of apartments and houses in London city. They haven't found one yet, they want one that they all like and has a good school nearby. Additionally, Hero needs a job there and Jo needs to make decisions as well about her new studies. 

Mostly everybody suffers some stress when there are big changes in their life. Some people try to focus on the positive side of it, but some other can't avoid feel anxiety.

Josephine was able to identify the first symptoms and has started talking again with Laura. Two sessions per week, through Facetime. Besides and due to her depression records, her psychologist has prescripted again the anxiety medication, although Jo knows by experience that it takes a couple of weeks to become effective. Yet, there is something different from the past years when she suffered anxiety. Obviously, it can't substitute therapy or medication, but she has realized that Hero is able to retain her in reality by just holding her hand. And, she really appreciates that he is by her side these hard days. 

To say something more positive, Josephine is convinced that she has already got the hang of maternity. In the morning, she is able to cook without burning down the kitchen. When it comes to choose Sofía's clothes, she has progressed from not knowing what sizes she uses to becoming an expert at dressing her. And, she has internalized all the child's daily routines by now.

But there is a small, tiny, insignificant and irritating problem that has also started to annoy Hero: Josephine never ever scolds Sofía when she does something wrong and she tends to let her do what she wants. 

At the beginning, when he decided to let Jo stay with them, he bit his tongue. He understood that their relationship was still fragile. However, it has been already five months and he has noticed how Josephine accomodates and lets him be the bad cop every time. For example, when Sofía decided it was a great idea to stand up in the counter and eat all the sweets in the kitchen's cupboard. Josephine shut her mouth and looked away. Or, when Sofía lied and hid a note from Miss Mary about her fight with Mike Wallace at music class. Josephine turned around and waited for Hero to take control of the situation. 

Since the moment in which Sofía, who is not dumb, realized about it, she has started taking advantage of it. And Josephine lets herself by her daughter, over and over. 

Even though Hero has tried several times talking about it with her, it is not until he has to leave town for some days that Josephine realizes how she needs to set some boundaries when her daughter behaves that way. As a real six aged kid.

*Flashback: two days ago*

- And, you must be Sofi? - Katherine kneels to the little's height. - I'm so happy to finally meet you. Can I give you a hug? - Sofía smiles timidly and nods. 

The brunette girl picks her up while holding her close and tight. This is a very special and emotional moment for her, and also for Josephine, who observes the scene with tears in her eyes. 

- Mommy told me you could teach me to play the piano. - Sofía tells her aunt, before turning around to look at Jo as approvement.

- Of course! We will have a lot of fun these next days. - She says hugging her again. 

It was time for Katherine Langford to take a flight to Crosby to meet her niece, and she has finally been able to come and spend some days with both girls. In exchange, Hero has to leave town in three hours.
