Dr Deaton rushes to treat Scott's wounds knowing Miracle can feel all of this before the hunters return. He says he knows how to treat werewolves but doesn't know about the new creature Deaton has just enough time to tell Scott that the hunters will have a book listing all the creatures they've encountered

"Do you?" Allison asked her father "I don't but our family has a bestiary. It's from the first generation currently, Gerard has it" Chris explained 

Chris returns to the animal clinic with Gerard. He greets Deaton by his first name "Alan" and says he thought he had retired. Deaton retorts that he believed hunters went by a code suggesting that he knows they are doing it no longer. The hunters want to know what killed one of their own Deaton explains the wounds saying the scratch on his neck was to paralyze him while the deep gashes on his chest and abdomen were the cause of death

"First paralysis and then death? Are we dealing with some venom spitting reptile here or something?" Stiles asked "Maybe something like that" Scott said with a shrug

According to Deaton, the first scratch affected the spine by the way of a paralytic toxin potent enough to disable all motor functions. He explained the killing wounds were caused by claws that dug in and slashed upward cutting through the lungs and rib cage with ease. Deaton tells Chris that he never seen anything like this, but he knows it fast, remarkably strong and has the power to render its victims helpless in seconds

He says they should be afraid because in the natural world predators with paralytic toxin use them to catch and eat their prey and, in the case of the dead hunter the creature didn't eat him. Deaton warns them that this creature only wanted to kill them he believes that killing maybe it's only purpose

"It's actually creepy now that he said it out loud" Boyd muttered "Reptiles that are just out for the kill? That is never a good thing ever." Talia said as a dark look took over her face 

Before the hunters can respond Deaton phone goes off. They all look towards him as the screen lights up with a picture of him and Miracle to show she is calling, only Chris saw the screen and got worried. "One-minute please" Deaton said holding up a finger moving to the back of the room away from the hunter's ear forgetting Scott can hear what they say, "Deaton speaking" he hears grunting from the other side of the line "Hey Deaton, you at the clinic?" Miracle questions 

"Yes, I am. I can meet you at 2:16" he says using the code they have "2:16, hunters. When will they leave?" she questions with a grunt "Leaving now" he grows worried as Miracle grew quiet "You okay?" he asks bringing Miracle back "Yeah sorry, umm I have a girl 7 with a bullet in her chest. From what I can see it isn't near anything life threating we just need to get it out so her healing can start, I am on my way maybe a minute away" Miracle explained her words getting slurred from the blood lost "Alright see you in a minute" he hangs up turning back to the hunters 

"2:16?" Erica question looking at Miracle "We have codes for everything 2:16 means hunters are nearby. Came up with them when I was 11", she explained  

Chris sees the look in his eyes. He is worried and from what he can tell it about Miracle "We should be going. You two take the body" he tells the other two hunters in the room. They move to take the body "Thank you for your time, Deaton" Chris said as he and Gerard left. When they left Scott came out of the back room scaring Deaton for a second before Scott can ask anything Miracle runs through the door covered in her blood as well Jay blood when her eyes lands on Scott they glow in anger. Deaton quickly takes Jay from Miracle and moves her to the table "She was only shot once, from what I can tell normal bullets, so we just need to remove it" Miracle explains moving to help but Deaton stops her
