Escape to Cali

Chapter 9

We spent hours swimming and having fun. Jaggar was the first out of the water. He made a small fire. As it started getting dark we all gathered around the fire. I decided to tell everyone everything that has happened to me. Everyone said they would help with whatever they needed to and said they would give me space when I needed it. We were sitting there talking about random things. Someone came up with the idea to get to know everyone and talk about what we went through before we moved here. We started with the bad memories we had. Everyone told theirs; but scenic I just told them mine they didn't ask. Then we started getting into the fun memories.

"What is your favorite sibling memorie?" Xavier asked the group. Everyone told their memory and the ones that didn't have siblings didn't say anything. Then it came to me. I smiled and looked at Khan.

"This was before everything bad happened. It was spring. I was on the football team. I was wide receiver. My brother and I were playing catch in the yard just talking. It was the first time I was out playing scenic the season ended. I had butter fingers that day. We made a joke about it because I said I had butter hands. I could not catch the football. My brother ,Gordon, started making theories about when I would catch the ball. Him making the theories made me catch the ball more. The reason that's my favorite memory is because that is the day I realized that without Gordon I wouldn't be as good as I am at being a wide receiver. I didn't care I couldn't catch the ball anymore because I was with my brother. I only had two more years and he was going off the collage. So I knew I had to make the most of it. I started catching the ball more. I remember having red arms from the ball hitting me. I also had a jammed finger." I smiled at the girls. Everyone else finished their stories. We talked more about the things we remember of our childhood. D fell asleep on me lap and that's when we decided to leave. All the guys went home tonight. They said they would be back in the morning. I put D in my bed then changed and laid down next to him. I was running my hand through his hair when I fell asleep.
