"Chad, honey?" said Meg.

"Yes, Meg?"  Chad said back.

"Have you told your mother we're engaged?" said Meg.

"Yeah. She was so happy, I don't think she slept that night" said Chad.

Meg laughed with him.

"Now, you'll be meeting Chad's parents later, Meg, but how'd you like to meet mine in the meantime?" said Jeremy.

"Really? But you're not the one I'm engaged to" said Meg.

"Who said you needed to be engaged to meet someone's parents?" said Jeremy.

"I dunno, Jeremy. I've met your parents." said Chad.

"But Meg hasn't. I'm certain they'll be happy to know that my best friend is engaged. Then they'll really know that you don't have to be betrothed to get married?" said Jeremy.

"Betrothed? Jeremy, what kind of parents do you have?" said Meg.

"Oh, I'm a royal on my father's side. You should know your history. My great great great grandfather defeated Napoleon at Waterloo" said Jeremy.

"And I'M the one you're marrying?" said Chad.

"That's amazing." said Meg.

"That is MORE than amazing" said Sam in shock.

"Jeremy is a descendant of the Duke of Wellington and his singing partner is a male version of my sister?" said Charles Wallace.

"Funny how things worked out, eh?" Jeremy joked nudging Chad's arm.

"Oh, very funny" said Chad with a frown.

"So what do you say? Would you like to meet my parents?" said Jeremy.

"I'm a little nervous actually" said Meg.

"Me too" said Chad.

"Come on, Chad the lad. You've met them" said Jeremy.

"But it didn't end well with your dad because I'm a commoner. And yet, you were born one" said Chad.

"Well, you can do things that I never would have been able to do without you" said Jeremy.

"But I'm learning a lot more from Meg" said Chad.

"Thanks" said Meg.

"Case in point. My pa might change his mind if he hears you're learning from a woman" said Jeremy.

"Oh! Very well" said Chad.
