"So how does the story end? Did Meg turn into Jill or was Chad's mother wrong?" said Charles Wallace.
"What? Charles Wallace!" said Calvin.
"What? Is there another twist coming? Was the speech all a lie?" said Charles Wallace.
"Most of it was. ESPECIALLY the part about me never being happy until I met Chad" said Meg.
"Meg, I've already said I'm sorry several times" said Jeremy.
"And all those times, I forgave you" said Meg.
"So how did things turn around?" said Calvin.
"Well..." Chad began.

Chad returned to his mother and Jeremy.
"Well?" said Alice.
"She's hanging in there. How you feeling, Jeremy?" said Chad.
"Oh, a little sick. But I finally feel sober after all that" said Jeremy.
Chad sat down and hung his head.
"I'm SO sorry about all of this, Chad the lad" said Jeremy.
"You should be. Everything you said ended up on telly" said Chad.
"Does Meg know I was drunk?" said Jeremy.
"How could anyone not know you were drunk? And she's not upset with me because I tried to stop you" said Chad.
"Well, that's good" said Jeremy.
"But it's not good. Because of what you did, she's afraid that we'll end up like me and Jill" said Chad.
Meg exited Chad's room and overheard the conversation.
"But she's not that kind of girl" said Jeremy.
"I know. But she's afraid to become that kind of girl. She just doesn't know how much I've learned from her" said Chad.
"I do. As a matter of fact, I've learned as much if not more from her. She's quite a girl" said Jeremy.
"The four of those kids are amazing" said Chad.
"But Meg is the one you're marrying. And she ought to know that she made us both better men" said Jeremy.
"She really did" said Chad near tears.
