Mirabel POV

My siblings and cousins and I were playing hide and seek. Which is great. Because I suck at this game. We aren't allowed to go into bedrooms after it took us 17 hours to find Antonio as his room is the FREAKING JUNGLE. So yeah about 4 heart attacks later and one angry aunt we stopped going in them. 

(Imagine Bruno's door was in a hallway but it was kind of at the end of the hallway. So basically how it looks in the movie except his door is on the side and not right in front of the stairs if that makes sense. Also this is before Bruno returns and kind of before the events of Encanto) 

I'm not supposed to go to Tio Bruno's tower, but going up the stairs leading to the hallway to his room is allowed...I hope. No one's been up here in a while so I mean it's a good spot. I hear heavy footsteps as Luisa, the seeker) comes up the stairs. I back up into the wall and press against it. I hear a sort of cracking sound and I fall backwards. That shouldn't be possible I was against a wall. I open my eyes and stand up. I fell through a really stiff wallpaper. (Idk if houses built like this but we gonna go with it). The hallway goes further.

I push more of the wall down to let in a bit of light. I go further in. And I find....another door. Wait what? No one else lived here who didn't have a door. Except me and Antonio but he's too young and well, you know what happened with me. I go closer and I'm able to see a name. 

"Zarita" 

I have never heard that name before. I look closer at the door. There seemed to be a girl with hair similar to mine. But a bit longer. She had a smile on her face but from it I couldn't tell what her power was. In the picture she is touching her forehead. Is her power extreme headaches? Doubt it she's smiling. Mind control? Some sort of telekenisis? I don't know. What I do know is that I have never heard of anyone named Zarita from Abuela or Ma. Or anyone for that matter. 

I try to open the door but it's stuck. I hear Tia Pepa call for lunch. I look at the door one last time before going back through the now very large hole in the wall and going downstairs. When I get there everyone's already sitting there. My mind is still on the door. Who is Zarita?

"Where were you?" Isabela asks. 

"What do you mean?" I was confused. 

"Hide and seek? You were the last one. We spent 20 minutes looking for you before we gave up." Dolores says from across the table. I had completely forgotten. Then again what I had learned was more important than hide and seek. 

"Oh well um-" I started. I looked up and saw everyone staring at me. Can't really back out now. "I had gone up the stairs to Tio Bruno's tower-" I say and Abuela gives me a dirty look. 

"We looked up the stairs you weren't there." Antonio exclaims, clearly confused. 

"I heard Luisa coming up the stairs so I pushed against the wall. Then I fell through the wall." I say. Abuela freezes. She knows something. I mean of course she would but still. "I found another door." As I say this all my siblings and cousins look at me confused. As do Pa and Tio Felix. Tia Pepa looks...angry? Mad? I can't tell. Ma on the other hand looks nervous and I think sad. 

"Abuela. Who is Zarita?" I ask and look at her. There is a moment of silence before she responds. 

"Do not. Say. That. Name," Abuela glares at me. 

"Ma, she needs to know. They all do." Mama tells Abuela as Tia Pepa glares at Abuela with a hurricane cloud forming over her head. Tio Felix tries to calm her but he is also confused.
