Goodnight

The sun pours into my eyes in the early morn
I rise with it to greet the earth
I keep it company as we walk
I watch as it passes behind clouds and the tops of trees
I say goodbye to my old friend as it nears it's goal
And I turn to see the moon
We walk towards each other
It's soft light guiding my way
We pass each other
Neither one breaking the silence that it brings
As I reach my bed and it reaches it's end
I whisper softly
"Goodnight, Moon."
