The Creator, Preserver and Destroyer
“No, not in any other huge old bungalow.” I told Kalki when he was pointing towards one of those antique houses. It reminded me painfully of our previous encounter.
“Natasha, we can’t just keep wondering in the streets. It won’t be long before someone captures us again.” Kalki said.
“We won’t,” I said opening BOD and taking Harpie out. “We’ll just wonder around in the air.” Kalki gave me an are-you-kidding-me look. But then he whistled and a dragon bat monster came to his aid. I climbed Harpie and he climbed the bat monster thing.
It was midday by now I terribly needed to have a bath and specifically shampoo my hair. Kalki needed nothing more than food. Deciding that returning to Prinstin was a bad idea we concluded to look for some caring person who would help us instead of hurt us.
Searching from the skies was easy as I had made Harpie wear an invisibility pendant. We spotted a nice house and a young girl about my age was sitting on the porch.
Kalki agreed with me that this might be the safest location we might find. We landed in front of the house and Harpie shrunk in size and got back into BOD. Kalki’s monster, to my pleasure, flew away. We walked towards the gates of the house.
The area was called Alipore and wherever we looked, there were pretty bungalows. This particular house had a vast freshly moaned front yard with plenty of trees and chirping birds. I know we misjudged the old man’s den but this in no way could be a trap.
The house was mansion-like huge but it was painted bright yellow and was very modern looking. I took this as another good sign that was slowly overcoming my anxiety.
I could see from here that the girl was sitting with her arms crossed over her knees and her head resting on them. He body was shivering and I realized that she was crying.
Kalki waved and called out to the girl. She looked up to see who her visitors were. When she understood our identity, her eyes widened considerably. She made her way towards the gates and continued to stare at us with a half surprise half shock look.
“Hey, my name is Natasha and this is my friend, Kalki. We were just wondering if you could help us a bit, “I said trying to remove the awkward silence. We’ll be happy to help you too with the reason you look so sad.”
“You shouldn’t be roaming around here. Koka and Vikoka have ordered anyone who spots you to kidnap you two immediately,” She said wiping her tears hastily. “They have captured the city and are planning for war from what I’ve heard. There’s even a bounty on your heads! What are you guys doing wandering around?” she said without stopping to breathe. Wow.
“Yes we do know about the people after our lives. But you see stuff like having a bath and eating food are essential too, right? That cannot be ignored even if the world is about to end in few days.” I said grinning like crazy to make her believe in us. Could you help us with that?”
“I guess I can. Dad is out at work and mom is in the gym. Several servants will see us but they won’t report anything if I tell them not to. I can let you in, my dad will not mind seeing that you are so famous even if he gets to know but he’ll want to capture you so you’ll have to hurry. Okay, you can come!” she said cheerfully and instructed the guard to open the door.
“Thank you so much!” I said and entered through the gate followed by Kalki. “But first please
tell me your name andwhy you were crying. I would like to help.”
“Oh sorry, I forgot to mention. My name is Aaliya. Aaliya Gupta. And I was crying because of my sucky life. My dad is this big businessman and thinks people will kidnap me and hold me for ransom. He has a lot of rivals. So instead of accepting to a bodyguard I said I would rather be homeschooled. I have no friends except the servants.” She said as we were walking towards her home.
