My first view of a new world

Today was a day that divided my past and future lives into two separate times.  Just when I thought my boring life would stay the same forever it changed into one of those lives that many (including me) dreamt about…

I remember my seventh birthday (and last) in the mortal world.  My mother my sister and I were wearing smiles and were definitely happy.  Then I remember my elder sister teasing me and me turning into a red hot fire ball (not literally).  Then I saw fear flash in my mother and sister’s eyes. I knew I was not me anymore; I had changed, mentally, into something else.  My mother called for the Prinstin Academy and within a minute someone came to take me to the school.

My mom said, “Natasha, go with this lady to the Academy.  NEVER TRY AND ESCAPE THAT SCHOOL.  It is what is best for you.  I promise everything is going to be alright.  Everything will turn back to normal……good luck.”

“Wait.  Wait.  Wait,” I stared at my mother in horror, “What did you just say?  I am not going to go anywhere with a complete stranger.  I am not going to that dumb school.  No one has ever returned from that school.  And I guess if I leave even I will be lost forever. Mom that school is haunted!” I screamed out of fear.

“Oh dear,’ my mom was saying,” it is definitely not haunted.  It is the best school for you…you are not a normal human.  You are special.” My mom tried to comfort me.

“I don’t want to go there mom please.  When Sasha (my sister) was my age she was not sent to some freak school so why me? I don’t want to go and I won’t!” I started to sob.

“I did not have to go because I was not a freak like you!” Sasha said.

“Natasha you will get all your answers there, in the Prinstin Academy.  It’s the only place you can go if…if you don’t want to die.” My mom said.

I completely stopped moving, crying, breathing and whatever else I was doing, but I continued to be freaked out.   Dying?  I had never thought I would die so soon, I had never considered that word before.

“Now, now I did not want to freak you out. You won’t die if you leave now. Natasha? Say that you will be fine and leave if you value your life.”

“Let me help you dear.” the lady from the Prinstin Academy was saying.

Then I held her hand and left for my now unknown future, the future I was destined to.  I know what you must be thinking.  No one could be foolish enough to leave with a stranger from a haunted school.  But then I was only seven years old and completely terrified.

Anyways, now here I am…in the Prinstin Academy.  I am now 12 years old……I have been living here for the past five years.  From how much I remember they don’t teach us normal mortal studies over here.  It is too different in some ways and too similar in others.  I had (as I had thought) never been back in the real world, never seen my parents or my sister after my birthday.  There were of course those times when I did not know what was happening and now I had to admit that I was not a normal girl, I was special, unique…and Prinstin was not at all haunted, I was a kid back then.
