“Do you guys understand?” I asked after I had explained everything that had happened.  I had also included the part about the monster being invulnerable and my dream with Shiva and with the monster.  Now I was waiting for them to respond.

“Yes.” Prachi and Kritika said in unity.

“No.” Karan said at the same time.  Why?  Why is he always so impossible?

I took a deep breath and tried to control my anger.  “Kalki is not the enemy.  Shiva is forcing him to act irrationally.

“But-”

“No ifs and buts Karan!  I’ve seen him suffer.  He is not lying or having the time of his life!  We have got to believe him!  He is are only chance.” I shouted.

“Calm down, nuts.  We believe you.” Prachi said nudging Kalki with her elbow because he had wanted to argue again.

“So, now how do we find him?” Kritika asked me.  I had no idea how so I just dug into BOD and picked out a small matchbox.  How was this going to help me find Kalki?

Just when I was going to put it back in, Prachi stopped me.

“I have a theory.  The matchbox can be useful to us.  See Agni, the god of fire carried messages to heaven in the form of smoke.  Maybe we can give Kalki a message.” Prachi said nervously.

“Whoa, Prachi, why are you such a genius?  I don’t think I could have found out myself.  I said doing the not bad meme expression.

“Well, Saraswati is my patron, you see.” Prachi said and shrugged.  The matchbox said Agni fire so Prachi might be correct…as always.  I took out a matchstick and lit it.  I don’t know what I was expecting but certainly not the fire turning green in color, which it did.

“I have a message for Kalki, the avatar of Vishnu.”  I said feeling extremely foolish.

“Please record your message, after the beep.” I was more than surprised at that; the gods were using technology?  Smart.

There was a beep sound after which I said, “Kalki, this is Natasha.  Please come to Prinstin academy if you are in your right mind.  It’s not a trap.  There is something we need to discuss.  Oh, and sorry for the punch.” Then I extinguished the fire.  Green smoke erupted and curled its way out of the room.  I realized it was turning towards the east that meant Kalki was still there.

“Nothing else that we can do now,” I said. “We should wait for him at least for some time.” A few awkward moments followed where all of us were silent.  Finally Karan broke the tension.

“Today is the fifth day isn’t it,” he said. “After the first trip to the FFF?”

“Yeah, it is,” Prachi said. “It seems such a long time ago, it’s kind of creepy how time flies when one is having fun…”

“…Or saving the world.” I added.  We all cracked a smile, but there was a deep buried sadness behind the simple twitch of the lips.

“Our entire life has changed.” Kritika said.

“I like it.” I said taking everyone by surprise but then, the must have got used to it by now. “I mean, I know the world is going to end and blah blah blah.  But, think of it in this way, we are getting a chance to prove ourselves worthy enough.  Don’t get me wrong, Prinstin Academy abducting about four hundred kids and then trapping them for ten years was bad.  But we get to die in style.  I mean, we die fighting, on the battlefield, not on a deathbed with some disease.  It’s like we are in one of the science fiction books.  Where there is a series of obstacles that might kill the main character, but then he escapes, like a hero.”
