When I enter the common room, I immediately see Draco sitting there.

I walk over to him and take seat on the black leather couch, he's sitting on. We stare into the flickering fire in front of us, normally enjoying one another's company and silence.

"How has your day been? I haven't seen you in the last couple of hours." Draco asks, casually leaning against the couches armrest, while studying me.

"I've been with Pansy and Daphne the whole time. Hanging in our dorm rooms and stuff, you know?" He smiles. "I know"

"I'm glad you've finally found your people." He tells me.  "You're my people" I grin and he huffs.

I shake my head. "No but really... I'm glad I've found them too." He smiles at me again. I smile back.

"How has your day been? I've missed you"

I see him rolling his eyes.
"Just the usual... And god, I can't hear anything about the Winterball anymore. That's really quite frankly all everyone is currently talking about."

A wave of shock hits me.
I stare up at Draco in total panic. The Winterball. I had completely forgotten about it. About Harry. The part about him asking me. The part about me saying yes.

The amount of horror I feel must be clearly written onto my face.

"What's wrong?"
"I-" I try to speak, but not one word will leave my mouth. It surely isn't a big deal, is it? It's just a ball?

"I'm so unbelievably sorry, I really forgot to tell you."
"Tell me what, Evie?"

I look up to him.
"Harry asked me to go to the Winterball with him" He stares at me. He stares at me, his expression one full of blankness and unrecognisable.

"Please say something" I plead, but he only stares at me quietly, not having even batted an eyelash.

"I don't know... I just wanted to try out something different for once. I know, we were planning on going to together, but-"
He cuts me off.

"No"
"What?"
"No" He repeats. "I wasn't planning on going with you, anyway." I look starstruck at him.

"What?"

He doesn't look at me, rather focusing his eyes onto everything but me.

"I wasn't planning on doing that.. You remember Astoria?"
"Greengrass?"
"Greengrass" He confirms.

"Don't tell me you-" "I already asked her" He confirms my suspicions and my heart stops. He to my horror now even turns to look at me, yet still avoiding to show any kind of emotion.

I open my mouth in utter disbelief. Harry is a lovely guy. Really. He is rather warm and calm, but Astoria? Astoria Greengrass? He couldn't have sunken that low to ask her, could he?

"You didn't" I finally say.
"I did"

The worst of all is, how he doesn't even care. How cold it leaves him.

"When?"
He shrugs his shoulders like it's nothing.
"A few weeks ago?"
"A few weeks ago?!" I gasp. "Are you serious?! Why wouldn't you tell me?"

"What? You didn't tell me either"

"Because I forgot!" I yell as I jump onto my feet.

"Draco, you-" I can't even put myself to proper sentences anymore.

"I can't believe this." I whisper.
As I realise, there won't be coming anything else from him, I turn on my heel, walk into direction of the stairs and vanish towards the girl dorms..

I am sick of all these arguments between me and him in the past few weeks. What happened? We had never argued that much back then.

The next day passes.
So the does the day after and the day after that.

Silence, between the two of us and not even a glance I am worth anymore.
Not one. Really none of our arguments had ever lasted that long. Not even nearly. Two weeks it had been now. Two weeks without him by my side and I felt unbelievably lonely.

Certainly, I had Daphne and Pansy by my side.I'd loved them and adored our new growing friendship. They'd of course noticed the stillness between me and Draco. Every one had. Students had talked about us, not even trying to quieten themselves down. But I wasn't used to anything else. My best friend had always been Draco Malfoy, the most popular student at Hogwarts.

It had been two weeks, so it hadn't gone unnoticed. It couldn't go unnoticed.
Pansy and Daphne hadn't asked me about it. They hadn't mentioned one thing, and that was what made me love them even more.

Nevertheless, it isn't the same anymore. Not close. Not in vicinity. I miss Draco. All and everything about him. His love and affection. His smiles.
Merlin, how I miss them. Everything. Everything about him.
