Jeff, Keri, and I were all allowed to sit in the back as the performers sat up front.
Daniel made some friends so he sat with them.
I wasnt introduced to them yet, so i didnt know who they were.
"Oh God, im nervous," Keri whispered to me.
"He'll make it," I whispered back, my heart thumping.
The first performer went up.
"Jax," one of the judges, i couldnt tell who, announced.
A gorgeous blond girl went up and said that she was singing Toxic.
"Wow, shes already one of my favorites," i said as she went back to her seat.
"She was really good," Keri agreed with me.
Contestant after contestant went up and sang, some of them good, some of them mediocre, and some of them were not enjoyable at all.
People got eliminated already too. a certain amount of people went up, they would each sing and the judges would tell them which people out of that group would be leaving.
it was finally Daniel's turn.
My breath hitched in my throat and i was slightly shaking.
if this is how nervous i am, how nervous is he?
Daniel announced that he was singing Thinking Out Loud.
My heart skipped a beat as he played his guitar and opened his mouth to sing.
His majestic voice boomed in the loudspeaker, and it was absolutely flawless.
My hands gripped tightly together and i breathed a sigh of relief as he was told to stop.
After the rest of the performers in his group sang, he was called to step forward.
The judge, Keith, called that Daniel was through!
He made it!
I squealed quietly and hugged Keri, who was to my right.
I whipped out my phone and shot Daniel a text that said:
YES YES YES CONGRATS
he replied back:
THANKYOU AGSHDJDKSKSL
i texted him again:
I KNEW YOU WOULD
he texted back:
THX ILY
i smiled to myself and locked my iphone.
I took a deep breath and let it sink in.
He made it.
After the show, we met him and he dropped his guitar case to give me a hug.
i ran into his arms and hugged him around his neck.
I wrapped legs around his waist and hugged him.
"Im so so proud of you," i whispered to him.
He put me down and lightly kissed my cheek.
Keri and Jeff were teasing us all the way back to the car.
"Little lovebirds," Jeff teased us as we climbed into the backseat.
Daniel groaned but smiled anyway.
We drove home and we had n o t h i n g to do.
Daniel left our room because apparently he needed to speak to his mom.
I was curious but i didnt want to be rude and ask.
Daniel barged back into our room a few minutes later and announced that he was taking me on a date.
I smiled and said, "aw, yay! What is it?"
he smirked and said, "You'll see."
i groaned and he grabbed my hand and practically pulled me out the door.
Keri was driving.
"I will just drop you guys off and, Daniel, text me when youre done." Keri told us.
We pulled up to a mini golf placed.
i squealed and hugged Daniel, because he knew i loved mini golf.
I was terrible, but who cares?
We rented our golf club stick things and our golf balls.
Mine was green, and Daniels was blue.
"The first person to make a hole in one has to strip for the other person." Daniel smirked.
"DANIEL!"
"Im just kidding," he laughed.
i laughed with him, "You pervert."
"The first person to make a hole in one has to buy the other person ice cream," Daniel said.
"Better and okay," We shook on it.
Ironically, i made a hole in one on the next hole.
Daniel's eyes widened, "No!"
"Ha-ha," i said and smirked.
"You fucktard," he said but smiled anyway.
"Watch your profanity, Mr. Seavey," i acted shocked at him.
"Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck," he said and kissed me.
i shook a finger at him and said, "What a dirty mouth for a pastors kid."
The rest of mini golf was absolutely amazing.
I am so lucky.
Daniel followed up on his word and bought me ice cream from the shop that was a block away from the mini golf place.
He bought some for himself too.
We ate the ice cream outside the little shop.
"Thanks," i said to him as i ate.
"Anything for you," he said.
"So cheesy, but cute," i teased him.
We finished our ice cream and threw away our cups.
Daniel texted Keri to pick us up, and she came within a matter of minutes.
"How was it?" She asked as we got in the car.
I told her about it and how Daniel bought me ice cream after i made the hole in one.
It was great.
