AUBREES POV
It was a Saturday and i was bored as hell.
School started tomorrow, ugh, and it was still hot, sticky, and humid.
i was just about to get up from the couch to see if my neighbor Daniel wanted to go swimming in my pool or something- yes i was that desparate- when my doorbell rang.
i shot up from the couch to go get it.
Opening the door to reveal none other than Daniel Seavey, i sighed and let him in.
"i was just about to get you," my naturally raspy voice stated.
"Everyones busy so i thought you were better than nothing," he retorted with a half smile.
i rolled my eyes but smiled nonetheless.
"So do you wanna go swimming?" I asked, tossing my phone in the air from one end to the other.
He nodded and said, "Let me go get my swim stuff,"
So he left and i went upstairs to my room and slipped on a plain black bikini with a t shirt and some short shorts.
He came back with dark blue swim trunks on and a t shirt and towel.
"Lets goo," he stated and walked towards my back door to get to the pool.
I followed into the sticky summer air.
He took off his shirt to reveal a tan and toned abdomen.
He smirked at my looking at him.
"Like what you see?" He asked jokingly.
i shook my head and laughed at him, though my heart was actually pounding.
I slipped out of my shirt and shorts and it was his turn to scan me up and down.
Teenage boys.
What a hot mess.
"Take a picture, it will last longer." i stated and he snapped out of it before smiling that annoying half smile of his and diving into the pool.
I sat at the edge of the pool and gingerly dipped my feet in. it felt so refreshing until something grabbed my feet and pulled me under water.
i came up to the surface and so did a laughing Daniel.
"Whoa, haha, so funny," i said sarcastically.
He laughed some more and said, "You shouldve heard your scream!"
i rolled my eyes and said back ,"im gonna go plug my phone in to play music,"
After I plugged my phone in, i laid down on a chair and attempted to tan as Daniel was making me laugh by dancing crazily to the music.
Eventually i was in tears from laughter.
"Okay- OKAY stop stop i cant breathe-" i laughed and laughed.
He laughed too and sat down next to me.
"Wanna play truth or dare?" He asked.
"but theres only two of us," i said back and he shrugged.
"okay fine," i agreed.
"Truth or dare?" he asked me.
"Dare,"
"i dare you to take a shot of ketchup."
My eyes widened.
"Really Daniel?" i rolled my eyes yet again and we went inside so i could take my shot of ketchup.
It was the most disgusting thing ever and Daniel was laughing his head off the entire time.
"your turn- truth or dare?" i asked him and he picked truth.
"Youre such a chicken. Okay um," i stuttered looking around for an idea for a truth.
"Whats your biggest life goal?" I asked him.
"At the moment, im planning on being the next american idol." he stated.
My eyes popped out of my head. "You can sing?!"
He nodded.
i grabbed his hand and pulled him to the piano in my living room.
"i know you can play piano, so here, play and sing me something." i told him excitedly.
He shrugged and began playing and singing 'Hallelujah'.
Daniel turned around when he was done and asked, "So what did ya think?"
"You are so the next american idol," my heart fluttered. Guys that can sing are a key to my soul.
he smiled a real smile and said, "glad you liked it."
Just then his phone buzzed with a text from his mom.
he sighed and said ,"i have to go home."
i nodded and walked him to the door.
"Thanks Aubree," he said and was about to leave before i said, "Wait!"
he turned around and i gave him a hug.
he hugged back.
He smelled so good.
He then left and i closed the door and smiled to myself.
Maybe im starting to like him.
