When Chris woke up this morning, he couldn't wait for his birthday weekend to start after all everyone was telling him it was a big birthday. It was double digits.
What does that even mean? as he laid in bed patiently waiting for his dad to come " wake him up".
He wondered if he would have fun during his birthday weekend. He knew his dad and bucky were planning something. They were acting weird all week.
Buck had a clipboard. his uncle Chim had warned him to run if he ever saw his bucky with a clipboard. that it was scary. Bucky being a tough boss. Chris thought to himself.
as Eddie laid in bed thinking about Shannon.... and how she would miss another birthday of their son. yes, they did not work as a married couple, but he would always be grateful to her for giving him Christopher. he checked his phone to see a text from his best friend
Buck: I confirmed the park for this weekend. but they said we have to clean up after the animals. >. < and make sure not to litter i told them we worked for the city. They laughed.
Eddie laughed at this. if you saw buck out of uniform you would think he was just some guy with great sweaters. We live in LA and yet he's always wearing sweaters. Eddie thinks.
Eddie: Well, you were the rancher in your purpose search. you got this. :)
Eddie put down his phone to get up and start to wake up Chris. He hears the bed squeak in the other room. so, he goes to see if his son is ahead of schedule.
As he opens the door, he sees the dinosaur blanket go up above Chris's head. to hide from him.
" Well, I guess I'll just make dinosaur waffles for myself and not a curly haired dinosaur trainer"
as Eddie turns to walk out of the room.
" Dad, wait !! i want waffles, ''Chris screams from his bed.
" Good morning mijo" Eddie says
" Morning dad " Chris says, almost screaming.
" Go brush your teeth and then we can do your stretches while we wait for the waffles "
" Okay dad... are we going to see bucky today" Chris says as he lifts his body out of bed.
" i can ask him if he's free to come visit, '' Eddie says as he heads out to retrieve his phone from his room.
he grabs his phone and heads to the kitchen to start making the waffles. and to make himself some coffee he had a busy day ahead of him. with all the party stuff that still had to get done.
he opens his texts thread to buck and sees he had replied to the previous message
buck: it was a horse ranch its different than goats, donkeys, and alpacas. eds, they spit at you if they get annoyed. I'm annoying Eddie. why can't we make someone else do it? like Chim.
It was the whole brother-in-law thing Eddie was sure of. That's why Buck loved messing with Chim.
EDDIE: Chim isn't the one that insisted on there being a petting zoo at Chris party. that was you buck and before i forget Chris wants to see you. I told him I would ask.
BUCK: I would be so happy to see my favorite Diaz. At least I know he would agree that the petting zoo is a great idea.;]
EDDIE: Buck if you ruin the surprise to win an argument, I will punch you. and great I will tell Chris that his bucky is coming over.
BUCK: I know. I know. calm down street fighter:}
EDDIE: :P HURRY UP AND GET HERE I BURNED THE WAFFLES!!
BUCK: OMW.
He gave up on the waffles and went to the living room to do Chris stretches while they waited for Buck to arrive. and hopefully save breakfast because he was actually hungry.
" Did you burn the waffles dad? " Chris says with a smile.
" no, the waffle machine is busted". Eddie says sarcastically
" Dad, it's just a toaster." Chris says trying not to laugh
"Dad is Bucky coming. He can make us pancakes. " Chris says
''We have to start your stretches. come on hamstring stretch. 1,2,3,4,5 hold for 5. "
Trying to ignore the little smile on his son's face as they continue with the stretches.
"Now do knee to chest and we will be good for the day". Eddie says walking to his room.
As Chris sits on the couch watching cartoons resting from the stretches. He hears the door open, so he gets up and walks to the door hoping to jump on buck as he walks through the door.
"BUCKYYYYY"
"AHHHH SUPERMAN YOU'RE GETTING TOO STRONG ".
"YOU HERE TO MAKE PANCAKES"
Buck walks into the house smelling the burned waffles. So yes, he will make pancakes. He walks to the living room to sit with Chris as they watch cartoons. It's a show about Dinosaurs of course. I think it's based on Jurassic Park. Or World depending on the generation.
"Hey superman where's your dad "
"I think he went to the kitchen. Or maybe his room. "Chris answered quickly as to not get too lost from his cartoons.
Buck gets up and walks to the kitchen and no Eddie in sight, so he walks down the hall to the door of Eddie's room, and he knocks but gets no reply, so he opens the door to see Eddie trying to pick a shirt to wear for the day.
"Pick the green one. I like the green one." Buck says as Eddie turns around to face buck.
"You think. I liked the red one. But if you say green, I'll pick green."
"Come on, we have pancakes to make. According to Chris and the smell of your house you can't even make waffles correctly. Buck laughed walking back to the kitchen. To start making the batter for the pancakes.
Soon after, Eddie comes out wearing a very tight green shirt. With these black jeans.
To say buck didn't look would be lying and buck doesn't lie. To Eddie and Chris.
The morning went on as they sat at the table and ate their bucky super-secret special pancakes as Chris calls them.
When Buck's phone rings and he see the caller ID
Its Maddie probably having baby cravings again. And wants some treats.
so, he picks up the phone and the first thing she says is "don't hang up ".
