At this point I'm ready to quit my job to write this. No, literally I'm tired. I spend half the night writing this. But anyway, if you read this and have comments on the story leave them in the comments.

CHAPTER 2: THEMES ARE DUMB

Buck POV

The morning had been uneventful considering he hadn't slept but no one needed to know that. He had things to plan for Chris's party and he needed to finalize the theme if he and Eddie would agree. Buck sat in the loft wondering how he could persuade the city to let him have a bunch of animals in the park for Chris petting zoo. Animals have been a sore subject since the tsunami. The way he wanted it to be perfect for superman was going to be the death of him.

So, he got up and went to get ready to go to the city for the permit and for the meeting with the park rangers. He could grab a coffee on the way. He needed the energy. He went to the city first since he knew most of them from his stint as fire marshal. And most were nice to him considering the drama that the lawsuit caused the city. He parked his jeep in the visitors parking lot. Close enough to the door but far enough that he could walk for a little to make sure he has everything he needs for the permit.

'' Good Morning Lindsay, how are you today?" buck says to the brown-haired receptionist

"Oh, Hi Buck. What are you doing here? Rolling her eyes as she continued her work.

"I need to file these to get a permit "handing Lindsay the papers.

Lindsay looks through the papers. "Throwing a birthday party for one of your tinder dates." the brown haired said.

Actually, no it's for a little boy. Buck says, trying not to start a fight with this girl.

"oh, you have a son" aww how old is he? Lindsay asks.

He's going to be 11. Is all buck says.

"Take a seat and I'll go give these to Mr. Garcetti to sign"

As Buck sits in the lobby of city hall he couldn't stop thinking about the last time he was here. He did feel bad about the unnecessary drama that the lawsuit caused. Especially to the good people in the city. But he couldn't dwell for too long. Before he finished his thought Lindsay was walking out of the mayor's office with a big stamp on the papers.

"Mr. Garcetti told me to tell you he can't wait for the party. And neither can Noah." Lindsay says standing in front of buck.

"Oh, that's great. Well bye Lindsay I have park rangers to go meet." buck says, standing up from his chair.

"Bye buck hope your son enjoys all the work you are putting in for this party "Lindsay says with a smile.

"Your son" Buck thinks on his way out to his car. Yes, Chris will be his if something happens to Eddie, but buck would be as broken as Chris if that happened. He couldn't imagine a world without Eddie Diaz.

As he drives to the park ranger's office to confirm the use of the park for the weekend, he stopped at his favorite coffee shop to grab a coffee and maybe a few treats for the rangers if they look appetizing enough to him. He heads through the drive thru.

"Welcome to bean-morning. What can I get you this morning? Says the voice on the machine

"Can I have a Grande vanilla iced coffee with 2 splashes of espresso and a dozen donuts make them a variety "buck say into the machine
