Isabel pov

We sat silently for a few moments as the waitress handed us our menus. "I'll back in a few minutes to take your orders, would you like to get started on something to drink?" She asked us her stare lingering on Peter a little longer after she did a double take.

She fidgets with her hair in nervousness as I smile softly at her. "Coffee please" Peter tells her with a polite smile making her fluster instantly. "And-and for you?" She stutters looking at me.

"Hot chocolate please" I tell her as she nods looking back at Peter before walking away.

"So I take it you're still learning how to cope with your new normal?" I asked him as he stares at me silently trying to figure me out.

"How about I ask the questions now?" He tells me crossing his arms as I raise my hands up in surrender. "Okay. I'm sorry. I'm sorry" I reply as he clears his throat.

"Why do you remember me?" He asks as I take deep exhale. "I never forgot to began with" I tell him as he narrows his eyes not believing me.

"Look. Like I've said before. One day Spider-Man's identity was the top number one news and the next nothing" I tell him as he nods. "Okay fine. Let me rephrase. Why didn't you forget? What are you? A sorcerer?" He suggests staring dead in the eye.

I look at him silently for a minute before I burst out laughing. "A-a sorcerer? Like-like a magician? or a witch?" I giggle squinting my eyes at how hard I was laughing at him.

"Yes a sorcerer. You know like Doctor Strange" He explains as I roll my eyes at him. "No. I don't have powers or have the ability to manipulate time or reality" I tell on serious note as he nods.

"Okay so why were you immune to the spell?" He asks me again. "I-I don't know" I half-lie to him as he rolls his eyes irritably.

"You know that I can sense more than just physical danger right? I can sense betrayal or even when someone is lying to me. And my radar is going off right now" He tells me as I swallow in nervousness.

"Fine. Okay. You're right. I'm not being 100% honest with you. I just-I guess I have uh-trust issues" I admit fidgeting with my hands as I meet his gaze. "I get that. I know a handful of people myself" He teases trying to lighten up the situation as I chuckle nervously.

"I'm like you" I tell him bluntly with no context making me scrunch up his face in confusion.

"I'm-I'm sorry I think I lost you in translation there" He mumbles bewildered.

"I was bit by a radioactive spider a few years ago. During the blip. I was one of the lucky few that didn't get snapped out of existence after Thanos." I opened up as the waitress, Lily, came back with our drinks.

"Well here you are" She tells us placing our cups down on the table. "Careful. It's really hot" She warns as she looks down at her notepad. "Are we ready to order?" She asked kindly as she stood a little closer to Peter this time around. But she was too shy to actually do any flirting to make it obvious.

It was amusing watching this girl try to subtly flirt with him.

"Um actually. Can you come back in a couple minutes" Peter tells her politely meeting her gaze. Lily stared at him for a second too long making Peter furrow his eyebrows waiting for her to reply.

"Oh uh-ye-yeah yeah that-that's o-okay. I'll be back" She stutters turning a bright red and practically running off fisting her notepad.

"I was on a sweet and short vacation in New York. Everything was cheap and afford with half of the population gone. And anyways I was visiting the lab facility my parents used to work at and at some point in the tour I wandered off to explore the place on my own. I screamed like a little girl when I felt a spider crawl on me because I have arachnophobia or at least I used to. Not anymore." I continue elaborating on my life story as Peter listens attentively to what I had to say.

"I didn't think much of it if I'm being honest. I just panicked, felt a sting, and slapped it off my arm. After that, I decided to stick with the rest of the visitors fearing that I'd find some a lethal widow somewhere else" I tell him chuckling at the memory. He smiles ever so slightly as he waits for me to continue.

"Nothing too eventful happened after that. I went to my hotel room. I went to sleep and then spent the next couple of days running a high fever and fighting what I had perceived was food poising" I tell him as he leans against his chair sighing softly.

"Obviously it wasn't food poising. I started feeling this gut-wrenching sensation right before something terrible would happen. I thought I was going crazy. Until one day, on my way home from college-" I narrate as I cross my legs over each other to feel more at ease with the conversation.

"Wait wait. So you said college? How old are you?" He asks me in disbelief. "I'm 19" I tell him as he raises an eyebrow in disbelief.

"I graduated high school at 16. And I finished my bachelors degree a couple months back. I took several exams and accelerated classes while in high school. So when I did start college I had a handful of credits that went towards my curriculum. It helped me graduate in 3 years rather than the traditional 4" I explain to him breaking my school career down for him step by step.

"That's uh-impressive" He admits nodding his head at me. "Yeah well I skipped first and second grade. There is nothing too impressive about that" I chuckled lightly dismissing his compliment.

"Now stop interrupting me Peter." I scolded him and he mumbles an apology. "Like I was saying, I was on my way back from school when-" I repeated as Lily voice cuts me off. "Are we ready now?" She asks coming to fully stand on Peter's side of the booth.

She's getting more bold. Proud of her.

"Uh yeah yeah I guess. The pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon special please" Peter orders looking down at a random dish. " A Hulk-a-licious for you and what will you be having?" She asks me as she writes down his order.

"The uh- Widow Bites with a side of fries" I asked her looking down at the menu.

"Alright. So I have a Hulk-a-licious and an order of Widow Bites coming right up. Anything else?" She asks looking down at Peter. "No. We're good. Thank you" He tells her handing him his menu with a smile. She grazes her hand with his purposefully as Peter turns his attention back to me.

He is so oblivious. How did he ever get a girlfriend?

"Thanks" I tell her handing her my menu as she scurries off probably ashamed of his unintentional disinterest.

"Where was I?" I perked shaking my head at the disruptions with a small smile.
