Chapter four

" You dum slut!" He screamed in my ear as he punched me. Tears and blood ran down my face as his fist connected with it. " I'm sorry." I cried not that it helped. He brought his arm back and said, " Are you?" I closed my eyes and waited but nothing came. Only a feeling that a weight had been lifted off of me. I shrieked as arms wrapped around me. " Shhh it's okay." Logan said as he carried me to the car muttering angry words to himself.

" Why'd you come back?" I asked.

" You left your phone."

He tossed it in the backseat. I closed my eyes and opened them preparing for the answer that was sure to come, " Are you mad at me?" I crooked. Tears stinging my eyes as he quickly looked back at me then to the front. " A little. If you would have told me you lived with that prick I would never have taken you back." I didn't want Logan to be mad at me. He was so nice I couldn't bare another Matthew.

" I'm sorry ." I cried.

" Don't be."

Laying on the bed I watched as Logan made his way across the room before I spoke, " He wasn't always this way you know?"

" No." My smile wavered a little.

" He used to be so sweet but then he just got meaner and meaner everyday. But don't tell him I told you that!" I said quickly. Logan's head snapped in my direction.

" Why not? He needs to know what a real prick he is."

I brought my legs up to my chest not wanting Logan to see me cry. " Because he'll hurt me. He always hurts me." The level of the bed sunk next to me." I shouldn't have made him mad." I sniffed. Logan gently grabbed my face making me look at him.

" Listen that was not your fault. That's just what guys like him do, they beat girls like you to make themselves feel good okay?"

After nodding my head he got up to sleep on the couch but I stopped him. " Can you hold me?" He looked at me for a while before submitting to my request. As he laid beside me and wrapped his arm around my waist I felt safe. Yeah I like this.
