Mercury's POV
I screamed as Matthew's lifeless body laid in my lap, dark blood spilling out of his head. I breathed heavily as I closed my eyes. I heard feet running through the room and the sounds of guns firing exploded in my ear causing me to whimper.
My heart pounded in my ears going with an usteady beat as the footsteps became closer. My senses heightened and adrenalin rushed through my veins making me viciously struggle. Cold hands rested on my cheeks making me shriek.
"No! Please!" I screamed tears flowing from my eyes. I stopped feeling the tension around my wrist let up and a soothing voice in my ear. "Shhhh, you're okay now."
I finally opened my eyes to see a bruised yet beautiful Logan smiling joyfully at me, tears weld in his eyes. His hands slightly trembled as he caressed my face.
I smiled pulling into his chest as tears fell down my cheeks. I stayed there, a place where I always wanted to be, safe, a place with someone who could show me love. I was so into the moment that I hardly noticed the SWAT team that surrounded us along with paramedics. I was gently pulled from Logan.
They brought us to a hospital and where I laid alone in a hospital bed with no one to comfort me but my suffocating oneness and the constant beeps of a monitor. They told me I was going to be alright but kept me overnight just to melt sure. You know, keeping me under close observation.
It was over no more Matthew, no more pain, no more tears. Only me, Logan, and love. I smiled inwardly to myself as the realisation that this nightmare that was called my life was over.
I soon fell into the most blissful sleep that I have had in a long time. Looking forward to the morning sun.
