Chapter 15

Logan's POV

I looked over to the phone as Renegade played through the phone. I felt Mercury's arms tighten around my waist. I didn't know who the phone call was from but it obviously was something she didn't want me to see. And it was also scaring her, it was time for who ever it was too stay the fuck out of her life, and I had a pretty good idea who it was. Matthew.

"Come on Mercury, I have to answer the phone." I said before removing her arms from around my waist. I peeked over at Mercury who furiously chewed he nails the obvious fear in her eyes. I placed the phone to my ear and a horrid voice filled the other end of the line completely taking me by surprise.

"I know your not still with that bitch!" Chastity said furiously. I could hear the anger in her voice as she some into the phone, screeching at the top of her lungs.

"Hi Rebecca! How are you!" I asked. I looked over at Mercury giving her a Grammy winner smile. "My fucking name is not Rebecca!!!" Chastity screamed nearly blowing out my ear drums. I rubbed my ears before soaking again I noticed Mercury's eyes still on me.

"Of course!" I said playing false excitement. On the outside I must have looked like I was talking my best friend while on the inside I was screaming for help. "Babe! How could you do this to me!" She screeched before sobbing on the other end.

"Yes." I said simply the smile still on my face.

"That want even a yes or no question! What the fuck! I would die for you and you trade me for that whore!"

"Really? That's nice." I felt my heart jump every time she called Mercury out of her name. I squeezed the phone tighter trying to contain my anger. "I am so going to fuck her up!" She screamed.

I only nodded, "Alright, goodnight."

"No please babe!" I slid my finger across the screen hanging up the phone before bringing a nervous hand through my hair. This shit really fucked me up, I took in a shakey breath before just staring at the phone. Waiting for it to ring again.

"You have a lot of women in your life." Mercury said from behind me. I looked over my shoulder and smiled at her quickly taking notice of the slight insecurity in her voice. When I locked or eyes she dropped hers to the floor a small smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth.

"Jealous are we?" I said teasingly a very real grin on my face. She continued staring at the floor as a battle with her smile took place her mouth twitching as an effect. Not to mention she was turning bright red. sill very much present on his face. I slowly walked over to her lemming real close to her ear. "It's okay out of all of them you're at the top." I whispered in her ear. Her eyes flicked to me s she let a gap escape her beautiful pink lips. It made it obvious that the surprised her making a sad feeling fill my heart. Yet I was still staring at her I found it hard to look away.

"Would you please set the table?" I asked, using the table as a way to escape. She quickly nodded better jumping lot the counter making her way out the kitchen.

She paused by the door frame slightly leaning into it frame,"Logan," she said, her voice coming out as a croak. I looked back at her in question. It seems she as if she was holding back from something. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before finding her voice, "I want a job." She said with more confidence.

"Mercury, you don't have to-" She cut me off real quick.

"But, I want to. It'll be a new start for me. I don't want to always be reliant on anyone I want to be independent."

I looked real feel into her eyes to find any hint of  fear but found nothing. I smiled at her sudden confidence the way the team Mercury was slowly appearing.

"Okay we can go looking in the morning." I smiled, before I knew it her arms were around my neck bringing me into a hug. And not really catching myself fast enough my arms were wrapped delicately around her waist. She was so fragile her so strong. She just didn't know I needed her as much as she needed me.
