Maya and Josh- The Long Game

Time jump it's summer baby

It's middle of June and that means summer break has started for Maya, Riley and their friends as well as for Josh at NYU. It's been about 7 months since Josh and Mayas sweet reunion and a lot has happened.
As far as the whole Amber scenario went, she agreed to undergo therapy and volunteering at a woman's shelter in New York. The time she spent there and at therapy was a healing time for her and she started to live a more and more healthy life. It just so happened that she had met a wonderful young man who worked at the Woman's shelter as well. He was a social worker with a huge heart who saw more in Amber than she would have ever realized. He was like an angel to her, helping her broken heart to heal and being the sweetest person.

In terms of Josh and everyone else, everything became better than it ever was. After his talk with Maya, they decided to have talks with everyone, Riley, Farkle, Smackle, Lucas, Zay, Shawn, Katy, Cor and Topanga. Somehow what happened and all the pain it caused made the relationship with everyone better because their relationships reached a new depth. Of course the fact that Josh had started to spent even more time at the Matthews to see Maya became a bit of a struggle because he had finals and his job at NYU. Maya also had a lot to study but Josh stayed at the Matthews every weekend just to be close to Maya. And though, most of the time they were not alone, let's just say, things got a lot more intense than they were before and who could blame them? Maya was already 17 for a while so technically it wouldn't have been illegal for them to start their relationship earlier than planned. And boy was Josh tempted to just ask her to be his girlfriend sooner. But he stayed true to his promise to wait for her to become an official adult. But yeah and now that Maya's 18th birthday was coming closer their someday felt like just around the corner but not just yet which created a whole lot of tension, in a good way of course. But that meant a lot more self control and a lot of well meant rebukes by everyone around them who knew of their deal.

„Will ya two stop it already? I'm gonna kick you out Josh" Cory snapped annoyed while they sat at the table during dinner. Riley sat next to Auggie and Topanga while Josh and Maya sat in front on the other side holding hands and teasing each other. And yes, Josh had a lot of self control and he was still protective over Maya and Maya was the same but they were crazy about each other as their feelings blossomed more and more. Whenever they could they would sneak in long hugs, gazing into each other's eyes for what felt like hours on the couch while holding hands, kisses on the cheeks which drove Cory and Topanga nuts to the point where they would literally count the days up to Mayas birthday.

„What? We're not doing anything wrong, relax, Cor" Josh plainly responds with a chuckle while he took a bite.

„Yeah, not yet, you silly guy. But as long as you keep spending the night here I constantly have to make sure you two don't do anything you're not supposed to, which is by the way a lot of work. Not to mention that we have our own children? Remember them? Riley and Auggie and must I remind you that they also have a relationship that is under our watch?" Cory dramatically spoke as usual.

Maya just chuckled „Mr Matthews, I think you are a bit under stress what about you take a break? We have an idea that will benefit you and Mrs Matthews. So, we have been thinking how cool it would be for us friends to spend the summer together."
Topanga frowned at her „What are you talking about? Who do you mean and where?"
„Okay, don't freak out guys but we were thinking that Josh, Lucas, Zay, Farkle, Smackle, Maya and me could all spend the summer together. Lucas offered us to come and visit him and Zay in Texas for a couple of weeks and Josh invited us  to Philly for a camping trip. And that way, you guys can just relax here and then you don't have to worry about supervising us all the time. What do you say, does that sound good or what?" Riley excitingly said looking like a puppy.

Of course Rileys point made Cory and Topanga frown in shock even more. „Are you out of your minds?" Cory yelled.

„Here we go" Maya sighed.
