"Rosie," I heard Lucas' familiar voice call me.

"Hey Lucas," I said turning around, glad to see him. My gladness soon faded however when I saw him in a WICKED uniform.

I stared at him without saying anything until he finally spoke. "Let me explain," he said.

I laughed, a harsh bark. "Explain? Explain what? That you work for this piece of shit company? Or that you lied to me?"

"Rosie, you don't understand. I volunteered to go into the Scorch because I wanted to make sure you were okay," he said.

I stopped. I trusted Lucas in the Scorch. He might be here infront of me in a WICKED uniform, but he was in the Scorch and he did save my life.

"What do you mean?" I asked. "Look it's really complicated, but I promise I'll tell you all of it later," he said.

"I just wanted to tell you now not to trust WICKED. I know you already knew that, but they aren't finished with ye. I don't know what they have planned so just be prepared okay?"

He squeezed my hand before walking off. I stood there for a few minutes trying to process everything until I finally gave up.

I walked into the room RatMan had told me to go to and saw everyone else after such a long time.

Even Ghost was there. I saw his white fur and made my way towards it, knowing the boys were with him.

"Hey guys," I said. "Rosie," Newt said as he hugged me. I flinched when he did, which he obviously notice.

"What?" He asked, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Nothing," I said. "Just the last few weeks...."

"I get you," he said, giving me a small smile and stepping back. I felt terrible, but he probably went through the same thing so he would understand.

RatMan cleared his throat at the top of the room and everyone became silent.

"As you know, you have all been part of something big. Bigger than all of you. And that's why we did what we did."

"A hundred years ago the deadly Flare infected our...."

RatMan began with the speech we had all heard a million times before.

"I'd love to see him in the Scorch," Minho said. I laughed a little too loud but RatMan carried on regardless.

The image of him running from Cranks played over and over in my mind. I bit my tongue to stop myself laughing.

Minho pulled a face at me and I couldn't help but laugh. I coughed to cover it up, but I got a dirty look off RatMan.

"I'm sorry to say, that some of you are not Immune," RatMan said. A familiar sense of doom filled me.

"Looking in front of me, there is a very small group from what started. Every single one of you was an integral part of our experiment, and one of you still is."

"Very few of you are not Immune, and I'm sorry to say there is nothing we can do. The Flare has already taken root in ye."

"Those of you are Evelyn, Tim, Harry, Newt...."

My heart stopped. Everything around me stopped. I froze in the spot.

Newt isn't Immune. My Newt. One of my best friends. Newt....

"Rosalin...." I heard my name, but I didn't know who said it or what. I saw Newt walk towards me, tears in his eyes.

He wrapped his hands around me and put his head in my shoulder. He began to cry. "Are you okay?" He sobbed.

I couldn't answer him. I could only hug him. Of course I wasn't okay, but I had to be strong for him.

He pulled away from me. "Rosie?" He asked. "I'd give anything for it to be me, not you," I said.

I saw pain in his face at those words. "Rosie, you aren't Immune either."
