"The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal"

-Aristotle

✴✴✴

Izuku's legs grew tired from the constant kneeling. He was first presented to the princess after his meet with Prince Natsuo.

She was known as Princess Fuyumi, and she, like Natsuo, was a beta. She held her fan closely to her face, never allowing him to see it fully. Not like he ever got to see any of their eyes. It was considered a high offense for an omega to look royalty or an alpha in the eyes.

Then, he was presented to the King himself, along with the Queen. They seemed pleased enough by his form, and lastly he was presented to his future mate.

Izuku kneeled in front of him, not daring to look at anything besides from his shoes. Though Izuku grew up in an accepting and free going kingdom, his mother and father often taught the traditional rules anyways. Not because they despised him, but because they were so used to it themselves.

Izuku gulped when the prince stepped closer.

He let out a startled yelp when the alpha in front of him yanked harshly on his hair. He pulled, forcing Izuku to look at the alpha's face. He was handsome sure, but his face was tainted by his scar.

"So, you're the omega that prince has gone head over heels for," Shoto said aloud. He tilted his head, curious as to why. "I wonder why. You lack respect, and your stature is not fit to occupy a royal position. However, since you are an omega, I suppose I understand why."

Izuku held back the urge to spit in his face. This man was despicable; he clouded over his words, but Izuku knew: You are only good for your ability to have strong children.

He bit his tongue and swallowed his fear... and his retort. It would be dangerous to act rashly when he didn't know the prince or the kingdom very well.

"At least you know how to bite your tongue," Shoto said, a sneer running up his race. He finally released his tight grip on Izuku's hair. "Clean this room. It's mine so don't break anything. The maids could do it, sure. But what fun would that be?"

With his words, he walked out the room, but not before adding quickly, "Oh, and your heat next month. That's when I'll mark you."

✴✴✴

Katsuki's leg bounced up and down anxiously, his mind never wandering from Izuku's pale.

A knock was heard from his door, and Katsuki turned around violently. A nervous maid was what he turned to see.

"U-Uh, Your Highness-" she started nervously. "Her Highness the Q-Queen wishes for your presence..."

Katsuki got up and coldly walked out of the room. He was stressed, more so than he had ever been. Izuku was usually the one here to keep him calm, but he was gone. Even if they did not mate, their bond was there. It put mental stress on both of them, even if they don't notice it right away.

Once Katsuki reached the throne room, he shouted immediately to his mother, "What do you want, Mother?"

Mitsuki's eyebrow rose slightly at the use of 'Mother' and not 'Old Hag'. She seemed nervous, but she clapped her hands shortly. It had to be done.

When her second clap finished, a guard, along with a beautiful brunette. She was stunning, no doubt. Her shoulders were fixed into perfect posture, her hair in a neat bun, her steps even, and her face shimmering with makeup. Everything about her screamed 'Royal' and 'Nobel'.

Katsuki openly scrunched his nose. He never loved snobby riches, though technically he counted as one. One of the many reasons he loved Izuku Midoriya. Izuku almost never agreed to where thick or shiny clothes, especially women's clothes. Male omegas were (often among royalty) dressed in women's clothing, but Izuku never cared for them, and Katsuki never forced him to.

Mitsuki seemed to scrunch her nose as well. Even though she was the first one to agree to the trade, she loved Izuku. She just loved her people more.

"Princess Ochaco Uraraka from the Uwaki Kingdom," Mitsuki greets with a slight bow of he head, the only indication of her high position.

"Queen Mitsuki Bakugou from the Ichiban Kingdom," Ochaco greets in turn, her voice soft but fake. She bows fully, making sure to pay her respect to a higher class.

Mitsuki proceeds to look at Katsuki, "Son." She starts.

Katsuki glares at his mother, then the princess.

"What is going on?" he asks between gritted teeth, he already has a feeling he knows.

Mitsuki sighs, "Respect, Son. The princess is of the same status as you."

Katsuki reluctantly bowed, "Welcome, Princess Uraraka of Uwaki."

Ochaco does the same quickly, "Thank you, Prince of Ichiban."

Katsuki quickly turned back to his mother, still looking for answers.

Mitsuki sighed, "As an alliance between our kingdoms- and in the absence of your consort currently- she is your new wife-"

"He was not a consort," Katsuki said, holding back his voice with as much effort he can muster. "He was more than that, and you know it."

Mitsuki glared at him with a look that seemed to say 'Not now'. Katsuki almost scoffed. She was the one deciding to tell him now, and now she wishes not to do it.

Ochaco bowed, her smile fake. She is obviously not happy with the arrangement either.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for showing me my future husband," Ochaco gulped. "I will excuse myself for now. I will come back in the morning if you so wish."

Mitsuki nodded, "Yes, that would be ideal."

As Ochaco excused herself, Katsuki whipped back to his mother's throne. It is a ruby red, covered in gems and jewels, grand in every way. It dazzles in comparison to his father's throne. It is a simple gray, but the stone is rare, one that is impenetrable.

"We need heirs, Katsuki," Mitsuki sighed into her hand. "She's an omega as well, so the arrangement will be-"

"I thought you never cared for rankings of secondary genders," Katsuki all but growled, his heart beating furiously in his chest. There was no way he would give up on Izuku that easily. Not to mention, his mother discreetly mentioned in her words what she is afraid to say aloud- rankings do matter.
