Cyrus lay in Maze's bed. The sheets were lazily draped over their half-naked bodies and Maze was fast asleep. They had laid together for a while after everything was over... By the time Cyrus saw it fit to leave, Maze was already passed out in his arms. In some ways, it was like when a puppy or kitten would fall asleep in your arms; It just felt cruel to move.

His fingers traced Maze's face, pushing his dark hair out of his eyes. His face wasn't smooth or flawless after close inspection. There were textures, there were bumps and scars. His nose was a little crooked and his eyes too close together. But those were the things that made Cyrus like him more. Those were the things that separated Maze from the flawless God he paraded himself as.

Maze was charismatic, he was loud and abrasive. He was the type of person that could make you believe almost anything. He was lively and talkative. He never seemed to shut up. He was so beautiful. Of course, that was just the side that Cyrus got to see. He had no clue that there was an entirely different side of Maze he wouldn't get to see for a while. But that was what made things fun and interesting. That was what kept Cyrus on his toes.

Maze looked different when he was sleeping. He looked so much younger. When Maze was awake, he always appeared laid back and friendly. But there were little things that gave away the constant stress and anxiety eating him alive under his mask. Those things were no longer visible in sleep. He was calm, he was at peace and free.

The door opening almost made Cyrus jump out of bed in surprise. His entire body tensed and his head shot toward the short blonde boy at the doorway. Silas's eyebrow arched up and he smirked a little before shutting the door behind him and heading to his side of the room.

"About time that asshole got some sleep" Silas commented as he poured a bottle of water he brought with him on a handful of his plants. "I was wondering what was stressing him out so much lately... Guess I found it"

Cyrus awkwardly cleared his throat as he sat up, Maze still hooked around hum making it a struggle. "Sorry?"

"Maverick" Silas deadpanned as he glanced down at the sleeping boy. "He's been stressing out... It's weird to have him up all night with me. At first, I thought maybe it was CPS and his siblings but he's a bit more open about that" Cyrus glanced down at Maze then back at Silas, still a little hesitant.

"I'm kind of surprised someone like you is interested in him... You don't seem like the type to take risks" Silas admitted.

"Risks?"

"Maze... He's great. Trust me, I know. He's been one of my best friends for the past couple of years. We were close up until recently... But he's a risk" Silas shrugged.

"How so?" Cyrus carefully asked. He wasn't entirely sure if he wanted to know the answer.

"Look, that man only cares about a handful of people in this world-" Silas scoffed.

"Himself?" Cyrus jokingly asked. Silas laughed a little.

"Funny... But no" Silas chuckled. "He cares about his siblings, Jonah, and Dorian... He used to care about me but things change" he shrugged. "It's hard to get him to care that much. But when he does he'd literally go through hell for you. Put up with more shit than he ever should have had to..." There was a hint of guilt in his voice. "He threw all his morales out the door for his siblings... For me... He's a good man" Silas admitted. "But if he doesn't... God, he'll screw you over so fast"
