There's a common saying that there is no beauty without color. Whether your favorite color is blue, yellow, or pink. Maybe even orange. Beauty does not exist without it. A colorless world is one not worth staying in.

Ever since I can remember, whenever I'm asked about my favorite color, I always say purple. Not because grapes are my favorite fruit or because I wear the color a lot. I always say purple because of her.

There was color in her name.

Color in her eyes.

Color in her smile.

Color in her laugh.

Color in her voice.

When color is removed there's nothing but gray left. Emptiness. You can't see it anymore.

You can't see the beauty.

You can't feel the love.

Worst of all, you can't create a new color.

Her name. Her eyes. Her smile. Her laugh. Her voice.

It was all color.

But now she's gone.

And now I'm colorblind.
