The rest of Monday went on as scheduled. I thankfully didn't run into any unexpected guests and was in bed around 10:00pm after a long day of classes and studying.

It's now Tuesday afternoon and I'm almost finished with my classes for the semester, but I still have a few more exams to take, and it definitely doesn't help that I didn't really get much out of yesterday's class thanks to Niall and Louis.

But mainly Niall.

I walk from my last class of the day to the coffee shop to see Evelyn and get another large coffee.

It's around 5:30 pm, but I'll be in the library until at least 2:00 am- I have so much studying to do. I have my finance exam tomorrow, but I have an A in the class so it'll be easy money.

Then on Thursday, I have my accounting exam as well as my business ethics exam, which I have already gotten a head start on studying for. It's not that they're necessarily hard, it just sucks that I have them on the same day.

I was supposed to have my business law exam on Wednesday too, but my professor decided to make it an essay instead, which I already turned in.

I got ahead on studying for all my other finals because my main focus right now is my business analytics exam. It's by far the hardest class I've taken.

I sit down at the Law Library and get started. I'm very thankful that the vending machines were fully stocked with Red Bulls - it'll be a long night.

About an hour into reading over my notes, someone sits down in front of me, and before I get the chance to ask who it is, I look up and lock eyes with Liam.

"What are you doing here?" I ask in my normal voice rather than a whisper, since no one else is studying in here with me.

"Niall told you I would help you with your exam. You gotta keep your grades up," Liam states as if it's the most obvious thing in the world that he would help me.

"And why do you care?" I ask sassily.

"Just because you're working with us now doesn't mean your life and future career should go in the shitter," he replies.

That's weirdly... considerate.

"And plus," he continues, "we need you to graduate summa cum laude so it doesn't look suspicious when you start working for one of our businesses and makin' bank. You need to fit the part. Walk the walk, if you will."

Nevermind. Definitely not considerate, just using me as their pawn.

"So, what - I just work for you forever? What if I don't want to? And summa cum laude is a lot to demand," I say.

My mom's already on my case, I don't need my life depending on it too.

Liam laughs.

Glad to know this is funny for you Liam, because I'm definitely not laughing.

"Summa cum laude will be achievable. Even if you don't technically earn it, Louis will make sure you get it," he states. "And as for dealing and working for us, you'll want to. Once you learn the lay of the land and reap the benefits, you won't even need drugs to feel a high."

I nod my head. I know I can graduate with highest honors, and him saying Louis can essentially fake it for me just makes me want to get it on my own even more.

In the very possible case that this goes south, I'd like to have a real degree that I actually earned backing me up in the real world. Not some fake one that can be ripped away by them.

"Okay, well, now I actually need to study. This exam will kick my ass and I clearly need a good grade on it," I say.

Liam nods in agreement and then pulls out pictures of my professor's PowerPoint alongside a printed page of what looks like a screenshot of the notes app on your phone.
