Niall is very talkative, to say the least. I think he could tell that I wasn't feeling up to the small talk by my various responses of nodding and muttering a few 'yeah's.' He stopped trying about 10 minutes into the car ride, leaving me here, listening to him sing along to songs that I don't really like.
But I much rather prefer this over trying to hold a conversation.
I finish my coffee about 45 minutes later and scold myself for not bringing more. My eyes are so heavy and I can't stop yawning, but something tells me that there's no way I could sleep right now. Once I'm up, I'm up.
And it doesn't help that the first interaction I had this morning was not a pleasant one.
Before I know it, Niall is parking his Maserati in front of their creepy fortress. I grab my cup and phone, exiting the car.
"Alright, so we're gonna go inside and you're gonna get the run-down for tonight and some other housekeeping stuff. I also had Liam get you a coffee from Starbucks- you take it black, right? Anyways, you need more caffeine, I can tell. You look like shit," Niall says with a laugh.
I really only drink my coffee black when I care more about the caffeine than the taste. Which I guess is fitting for today. Plus, it's cheaper.
I scrunch my nose at the last part but laugh anyways. "Uh, thanks? That was sweet but unnecessary. You guys don't have to be buying stuff for me."
"Don't sweat it, sweetheart. We'll break way more than even tonight," he winks.
I nod in response and follow him into the house.
Once again, he opens the door without needing a key. It makes zero sense as to how they can literally walk through walls. But I'm guessing the whole lock situation is filed underneath "don't need to know" on Liam's weirdly specific checklist, so I'll probably never find out.
As we enter the house, Niall heads towards the kitchen and I head straight for the dining room/conference room/drugging room. I know this is where they'll all be, and honestly I'd rather not wander around and get yelled at by Harry again. Or Liam, who is strangely also kinda mean.
When I open the door, the other four boys are already waiting for me.
"Violet! Hello love, how are we?" Louis beams.
"Hey guys. I'm good, thanks. How are you all?" I ask, addressing the room but making damn sure I don't lock eyes with green ones.
"We're good, very eager to get you all ready for this evening," Zayn answers for the five of them.
"Yeah? Well, I'm ready to get started," I say.
I sit down next to Louis after Niall hands me the coffee, and mouth a 'thank-you' to Liam before taking a sip of it.
I can feel Harry's eyes burning a hole in me as he just stares. I don't want to look his way in fear of him glaring at me or making a mean comment.
"Okayyyyy let's get this show on the road!" Niall says as he turns on the projector and the title 'How to Sell Drugs to Idiots' is plastered on the screen.
"As you can see, Niall made a PowerPoint. Again." Liam says, rolling his eyes.
"Why yes, I did. Alright Miss Greene, here's more of dealing 101. Or 102... eh fuck it whatever," Niall starts. "First, you gotta keep in mind that these kids are rich and looking for something to blow daddy's money on, yeah?"
I nod.
"So, they try really hard in school, get into a college like Berkeley and then join a frat, make friends, and party. Gotta blow off steam somehow, right? That's where we come in," Niall says as he changes to a slide titled 'Logistics.'
