Dante and Jungkook have already taken a few steps from me, hurrying to leave.
My eyes are frantic as I glance around. "Um, Jungkook?"
He stops, turning Dante to get a look at me. His eyebrow is raised with an emotion, and at this point I can't tell if its irritation or curiosity.
"I'm out of my flying potion." I blurt, giving a sheepish grin. "If you know of a shop around here that sells local things, then maybe I can make a new-"
"Get on." He interrupts me, holding his hand down at Dante's side.
"What?" I blink.
"Just tie your broom up somewhere and put the basket in the side saddle." He gestures to his hand once more. "Lets just ride together. It's the fastest way."
Not wanting to argue further, or press the topic, I do as he says. When I'm done, his rough hand holds onto mine tight as I put my foot in the stirrup and heave myself up behind him.
My chest touches his back, but the more I try to scoot off him, the more uncomfortable it is.
"Just hold on." He orders lightly, bringing Dante to a walking pace. Not used to keeping my balance on a live animal, my hands wrap around his waist.
A great way to stay on, but also a sly way of feeling his firm abs beneath my touch.
Dante picks up the speed, and soon we're making good headway. I'm not exactly sure where we're going yet, but the weather soon begins to warm up. It's almost pitch black with nothing but the moon to guide us, but the heat is moving in fast.
I'm starting to think that we're going back to the Fire Kingdom when I hear an unfamiliar sound beneath our feet. Dante's hooves crunch on golden sand, my eyes turning into saucers when I see us pass by a large cactus with needles and pink flowers sprouting from the green skin.
"Wait." My mind races with thoughts, raising my body up to glance over Jungkook's broad shoulders. "We're in the desert?!"
"Welcome to the Spirit Kingdom." He hums, us trotting right along into the sands that seem to stretch for miles.
Mice, lizards, and many other types of reptiles patrol the grounds, scavenging for food. More cacti pop up, each one hosting a different type of flower. Even under the night sky, the sand glitters from the moon's reflection. Dry tumbleweeds blow through, disrupting the smooth sand.
In the distance I see a pool of water, surrounded by various palm trees and foliage.
"The ingredients say we need a rare sand." I gesture all around us. "How are we supposed to know what's rare? We're surrounded by miles of sand."
"That's why I'm getting someone's help." He stops Dante, the ground beneath our feet beginning to rumble. "Get ready to meet the Spirit Prince."
My hands release his waist, leaning over to get a good look at what he was referring to. The ground still rumbles as I see a figure beginning to approach. It starts off smaller, then gets bigger, bigger, and bigger until a pirate ship now stands in our way, black sails raised in the desert wind.
My mouth hits the ground in both shock and awe. Hanging from the crow's nest on a rope, a burly man waves to us.
"Namjoon!" Jungkook waves back, making the man swing to the bottom, opening a door near the sand so we can walk right on board.
Once we're in the hull of the ship, we dismount, Jungkook and the man hugging.
"Meet the Prince of the Spirit Kingdom." Jungkook gestures to me, then back to Namjoon.
