There's a soft pillow that my head rests on, and I blame it on the Fire Kingdom that its so warm and inviting.
Through my closed eyes I can see the sunlight radiating through the open window, and even feel it on my cheek. The music in the street has settled, and I wonder if the festival has ended. I snuggle in closer to the pillow, never wanting to leave its warmth.
When I realize this pillow just hugged me back, my eyes shoot open at the speed of sound.
A heavy arm is on my waist, a sleeping Jungkook underneath me. My head rises and falls with each breath he takes, and I slowly breathe out trying to calm my erratic nerves.
It doesn't help.
I raise up from him at a lightning speed, the shock of the movement making him jump himself. He rolls off the bed, and all I hear is a loud "Thump!" when his butt hits the clay flooring.
My hands fly to my mouth, gasping from the shock of it all. He raises his head from the floor long enough to glare at me, his hair falling into his eyes and sticking up in random places.
"Why were you in my bed?!" I jump to my feet, grabbing my broom as a makeshift weapon. "With your arm on me!"
"Oh, shut it, you damn witch." He groans, picking himself up from the floor and dusting his backside off. "Don't you remember last night?"
My eyes widen and I jut the broom out at him further, pointing it at him like a knight wields a sword. "What are you talking about?"
"You told me to get beside you." He yawns, raising his arms to stretch which makes that small tuft of hair peek out from under his shirt again. I shake any blushing thoughts from my mind and focus on the situation at hand.
"What?!" I screech. "No, I didn't!" My brain runs frantic, trying to recall everything from last night. We ate and went to bed separately. I certainly did not tell him to climb into bed with me... Did I?
"You must have been sleep talking, then." He rebuts, scratching his head. Sleep talking? Oh God, if that's the case then what else did I end up saying to him?
He gives a final yawn and picks up his saddlebag from the dresser, throwing it over his shoulder.
"Look, I'm going to make sure everything is ready for our trip today." He heads for the door, turning back to give me one more glance over. "And I don't know why I was hugging you. Maybe because you were warm."
With that, the door closes behind him, and I swear a saw a hint of a smirk dancing on those lips of his.
I stand in the room, clutching the broom handle tight to my body, trying to take a moment to process what just happened. My heart feels like its going to beat right out of my chest, and I'm not sure if its from the nervousness or adrenaline.
When I finally collect myself, I make my way downstairs to find him outside with the horse. He's stroking its mane, smiling and seeming to give it words of affirmation.
"What's the matter?" I ask, noticing the horse turns its head this direction. Jungkook gives it one final forehead rub before turning to me.
"Dante can't come with us for this journey." He says, the saddlebag still thrown over his shoulder.
"Dante?" I ask, wondering who the hell he's talking about. He gestures to the black steed standing by him. "Oh! You're Dante?"
As if he can understand, he moves his head up and down, pawing his hoof against the ground.
"Why can't he come?" I question, giving the horse a once over. "He looks fine to me."
"Have you completely forgotten where we're going?" Jungkook juts his finger out to the east of us, and I follow his gaze to see the volcano. "You expect my horse to walk through lava?"
